We have had a full house of English Oak R9's fitted including some black ali bi-fold doors

The biggest issue we have had is the glass and scratches on it or poor soldering on the lead joints. One window required 3 new sashes until they got it right

Overall I'm reasonably happy with the R9's we have but agree in places the finishing could be better

The biggest issue is if you go for large wings (the windows which open to the left and right) then they can move quite significantly over time which might require the fitter to make repeated trips to correct although this is also probably the case with normal PVC-U windows. We did go for 8.8 acoustic which probably didn't help

Also, some of the interior joints move over time - ours have snapped back into place but if left they might not

Lastly, if a windows blows or mists you are buying a full sash rather than just a piece of glass if they are mechanically jointed

How are you finding the 8.8mm acoustic? This is what we're thinking about. Have been recommended 8.8 & 6.8 with acoustic tape.
What did you have prior to this and do you think there is a significant difference over standard double or triple?

Blimey. I opened it thinking you might be being overly picky, but that is not a high quality finish by any stretch of the imagination.

Hi there, if it’s not too much trouble could you PM me the details. I’m in Cheshire and basically want to do what you did after reading the comments. Had a quote that seems a lot and would really appreciate the details you’ve shared....even if I am 3 years late to the party!

Love love love your windows Too Late. Can I just ask if the centre bars get in the way at all when you are looking out? Can’t decide whether to have them or not
🤔. Also please could you tell me your render colour? We currently have white which is harsh but I don’t want to go cream - this looks in between. Cheers!

Sorry guys, just finished a gig where PH was blocked at work laugh

You need to enable PMs otherwise i can't send you stuff.

www.dekkowindows.com

I think most have just tried the quotation number 0161 406 0055. If you want the sales contact I can provide however unless you are doing a whole house I think it easier going through quotes. BTW it was 7 years ago since I looked at them.

I think I sent everyone who asked, but let me know if anyone wants the details.
Hi Worsy, can you share with me the contact as well?

We recently quoted 2 large bay windows,1 small bay windows and 1 normal window in R9 and 4 other plain windows in R7, the quotes are all very high, ranging between 22K and 35K... I am wondering whether we are being ripped off here...

Thanks a lot for your kind help.
