Been a long time for an update and still not a lot of progress as such. I have had 5 months off as been struggling with tendonitis with calcification in my shoulders. This has been a bit of a pain as everything that I need to do is above my head. I sat around for 3 months doing very little and then we spent 2 months over Christmas in England. We are now back and searching for motivation to finish off my plasterwork.
On the plus side we have been doing things in our own place instead. I have completed the back wall in the kitchen and done the little bit of taping and jointing in there. New lights have been fitted and now awaiting paint and tiling.
Going back a step we had major issues with the tap in our bathroom. It was leaking internally and we had to send it back. The replacement arrived and this was just as bad. As we were paying for returns and the 2 we had received both leaked I decided to pull it apart and if need be write it off and search for a suitable replacement. Was quite obvious when it was in pieces that their factory was not the cleanest environment for assembling taps as it was full of grit that stopped it sealing correctly. We now have the tap we wanted without it ruining the wood table top.
Having installed a wood burner 2 years ago I have finally put the last bit of flue at the top. Was a nice clear day and had a fantastic view from the top of the roof.
While we were languishing in the UK at the in-laws expense we did design and replace their old rotten utility room and give them some badly needed storage in their cellar. Was a bit of a struggle using antique tools for some of the work and had to get a few new tools for the father in law! Next trip back and we will need to finish off the work surface in the cellar and tile the utility.
On our return I did venture into the barn to have a look around and reacquaint myself with what I need to do. In one of the bedrooms I saw a crack in the ceiling plaster at one of the joints. Rather peeved but also my own fault as I had completely missed the joint with the tape!

any plans for another Sunday service, would love an excuse to come and see the works in person!
When the weather picks up we may well do another one, but feel free to invite yourself anytime to come and have a poke around. We are about most of the time. We have had a few friends use us as a stop off driving through so are accustomed to visitors although our place isn't the Ritz's more like indoor camping. Just don't plan an early start the following morning unless you are tea total!Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
