A while back on Facebook I seen a post with a warning of chalk symbols appearing on properties as targets of potential robberies. As with most things on Facebook I dismissed it as a load of paranoid nonsense.

Tonight however I return home and there is a chalk symbol of a fish drawn next to my car.

Should I be concerned or am I just being paranoid?

Move the car.

Go to bed.

Sleep with one eye open.

Sorry, but my initial reaction rofl

However, on the serious side I've never heard of it for cars, don't know how prevalent it is for houses and I'd be surprised if it meant anything!

You could, in the manner of the Christian fish symbols, pop an eye on it so they know you're watching...

Maybe a quick call to your local force or ask next door if the kids have been playing with chalk.

But i have heard of the local travellers in Kent who will mark houses like this if theres Dogs or horses worth taking

It does smell a bit fishy, as the parrot said to his mate sitting on a perch.

So there you are, OP. Lock the goldfish in the cupboard under the stairs.

Maybe the local neighbour cats drew it.

I've always wondered about this.

Get some similarly coloured chalk and draw fish symbols next to all the cars in your street.

Why are robbers drawing pictures to help other robbers steal stuff?

Seems a bit unlikely you'd, go to the trouble of finding out if the property has a dog or diamonds or a fish and then tell other robbers what's inside.

It does sound stupid, I know.

It's up a drive so doubt it was kids, no risk of flooding here either as half of Glasgow would be flooded before me.

I just thought it was a bit odd when I seen it and remember seeing something about it. Anyway, here is the fish in question.

It's a bluff. Robbers send other robbers to houses where the tellies are from Bush, and the jewellery is Elizabeth Arden.

Then, when those robbers are occupied, they go and rob the decent houses.
