Anyone had experience of crocodile doors? http://www.crocodiledoors.co.uk/garage-door

Got a brochure from them earlier this week. Saw an advert on tv where they were offering free fitting, 20% off and 0% finance.

I got a brochure followed by a sales call one evening, and I mean sales call!! He wanted to arrange a time that myself and my wife would be available to sit down with their specialist. I said give me an idea of price first! He wouldn't, I said unless you can tell me you can do it for less than 2k your wasting your time, he hung up.....

Defo a lot of cowboys out there. One guy offered me an "upgrade" that means the door will go up on its own with 1 press of the button rather than holding it down and waiting... I said surely that's just a dip switch in the control box... he just looked at me like I had just sh@gged his wife.

Another vote for Hormann here. I went for a sectional door as I prefer the look.

I would at least suggest getting Tony Coletta to do a quote if you are concerned about being stitched up by some cowboy outfit. I dragged him away while he was quoting for a neighbours, asked him to measure up which he did there and then, chose colour, got a quote a day later, and 6 weeks after that voilà!

They have done three doors around me recently (enclosing in car ports of differing sizes) and they all look good. Really nice chap to deal with. I had a few quotes from a couple of other firms which were all around that price, but in the end went with Tony as he seemed more genuine and less high pressure sales tactics! A few more of theirs here

The chap opposite me is the carport with the yellow ladder in before/after shots.

Problem now is figuring out what to put in it and rack layouts etc! biggrin

Update: Had one of them on the phone today - reduced from £2k to £1600. I guess business is slow - time of year etc.
Sounds pretty good to me so they are coming back next week to take some measurements and confirm exactly what we want doing and I think we will go for it at that price.

I've gone for an anthracite grey from Rollerdor in Norwich, RD77 classic with two remotes and internal manual override. £1420 including VAT.

There isn't a bad word said about them on reviews.com and a average of 4.8 over 280 odd reviews, good feedback on their Facebook page too.

Being fitted at the end of the mi th so I'll get some pics!

Hi guys,

Anyone know roughly what you'd be paying now in 2018 for a Crocodile automated roller door? Quality, fit and finish looks excellent.
I'm needing to install two singles asap.

Thanks in advance!

No idea on Crocodile but they are a bit more than the average by all accounts - maybe you get what you pay for but I think they're at the higher end.

What appeals to you specifically about this manufacturer? Have you looked at any others?

Hormann remote electric sectional door was the best £2k I've ever spent.
