We've just moved house and was looking at buying either the eve or an ergoflex as a reasonably priced alternative to a tempur.
We went with the ergoflex for £640 in super king size in the end (https://www.ergoflex.co.uk/memoryfoammattress/memory-foam-mattress-sizes#418), got some reccomendations from others on here recently, and as they also offer a money back guarantee, albeit only for 30 days there didn't seem like much to lose.
We're only 10 days in but first impressions are excellent! Me and the Mrs are very very happy with it for the cash, I'm definitely sleeping through better than I did on our previous pocket-sprung mattress (which was about £2k from M&S so not a crap one!).
Definitely worth a try in my opinion.

So its been 5 days with the Ergoflex, and my initial thoughts are as follows:
1. Its not hot at all. If anything, its actually quite a cool mattress to sleep on. We've had to add an extra layer to the quilt.
2. Its very supportive and I've had zero aches or pains in the morning when getting up
3. There are zero issues with either my wife or I feeling the other move around in the bed (which is a huge plus from her as I'm not a good sleeper).
4. I find it very firm (she is fine) compared to the old Temput topper we used before. I'm wondering if it will soften up a little over time or in warmer weather. In my head, I'd prefer it if it were slightly softer but as above, I can't complain about end result.
5. Its not as thick as I was expecting (21cms. It says so on the specs so don't know why I was expecting different).
6. Its heavy, so not easily manouverable once out of the packaging.
We will keep it for the time being I think (30 days trial) and see how we go. If it were slightly softer (maybe 5%?) I'd be over the moon. for now, not 100% convinced.

Anyone tried Simba? http://simbasleep.com/
Look to be very similar to the Eve one someone else posted

What about this:

Plus one of the few companies in the UK that will properly honour the 6 year eu warranty thing.

Well its been 2 weeks and we are sending it back. Nothing wrong with it per se, however its simply too firm for me, so back to the drawing board...
Have you tried Millbrook beds, they are hand made. You can have the mattress as firm or soft as you like. I had my side of mattress firm and the wife's side is softer. On a side note, we have a tempur topper which we put on last night.
Transformational!
We get all the benefit of the latex mattress (ie, isolation) but the softer topper means we effectively now have 20cm of memory foam (or whatever it is) before we hit the base layers.
going to see how this goes for a week but already I woke up feeling better this morning!

Hope you've got an airbed as back up!
I had to buy and use an airbed when my Sleepmaster mattress subsided by 2" and the wkers decided to make a fight of it. It was bloody cold and I still have a weakened back. Mr S***** of Sleepmasters I hope your back hurts too, and thank you for six months of misery.red_slr said:
Well not a good start to John Ryan... booked in for yesterday but they were a no show. Even had the 7am (ho-ho) call off the delivery driver to confirm a time but then nothing. Situation was made worse by the fact we tipped our old one after we got the call.
We had similar. I couldn't be home so asked my brother to stay and in the end they called at the end of the day to say that they got their wires crossed and would deliver the next day. I was seething.I asked them for a refund on postage. Their reply was that postage was free and so there is nothing to refund. I said but I can take delivery and send it back within a month which you will have to pay for. They said, yes, you could do but despite that they would not give any money back despite wasting a whole day for my brother.
In the end, I couldn't be bothered arguing. Espcially because it appeared te problem was caused by the courier, not john ryan.
The mattress itself is excellent and then some. Which one did you opt for? From memory, ours is artisan bespoke.

You're not alone Neighrbours had ordered new sofas but couldn't figure out how to get the old ones out. So they had me on standby to smash them to bits once the 24 hour delivery call came in.
10.00am: Company calls them to say new sofas will be there in two hours.
10.01am: Neightbour calls me to come round and smash old sofas to bits.
10.02am: I arrive with suitable selection of large hammers and saws.
12.00noon: Destruction completed - two piles of matchwood in their living room.
12.01pm: Company calls. 'Oh sorry we made a mistake, it's next week'.
