make sure you paint the wall to match before you leave!
Don't have to paint it apparantly.

If the new owners are likely to put a TV in the same place, then i'd definitely just put a blanking plate over it.

Mentioned further up they are not.

Madness as all the sky, aerial and extra sockets are at the opposite end from where they want their TV.

Or screw up some paper and stuff into the hole and fill with lightweight filler then sand.
Are you a skim that has done work for me ;-)
Bodgetastic hehe

Must admit I tried some premixed light weight filler last week for the first time and it is amazing stuff, if a bit smelly. Doesn't slump at all even when you bodge a deep overhanging hole. And looks like it's flexible once set so shouldn't crack either.

One sKim I used thought screwed up pages from the sun were OK, not even the "professional" approach of using empty plaster bags. Muppet. As above, batten, patch with square of board, skim

Fit a touch-sensitive light switch there. It'll have the new owners guessing for weeks. Or a thermostat, that will never appear to do anything...

All excellent suggestions, but don't forget to drop a smoke alarm down the cavity so that it starts bleeping when the battery runs low.

It's halfway up the wall!
Is it the obvious place for a flat screen? Just fit a blank front to a single socket box.
