Any idea where I can get the connectors that connect the base to the boundary wire (purple ones with flymo)? They splice the wire.

I've just purchased a Flymo Easilife 200.

The base station will be about 3m from an outdoor socket on the house, I'm going to run some cable in conduit trunking from that socket so I'm wondering the best type of mains connector /socket at the base station end. Or just cut the Flymo's mains cable and use an IP68 connector like below straight into the base.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PRF4CXN/ref...

The base will be by a wooden fence so I can't mount a socket by it.

Any other ideas?

Actually, after asking above I think I have found the ideal solution here

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOG-KENNEL-SMALL-TO-MED...

Only £36 with the offer thats on today, and I can run the cable conduit into the back of it.

The cable from the flymo is at least 3m.

Oh yeah, you're right.Its about 4.5m.

I still want to use conduit to protect it though, so I'll have to cut it as the connectors are large.

I'm thinking of naming it "Patrick"

Finally unboxed 'Dave the Mow' weekend just gone. He's a WROX landdroid WR130 (the small one).
For most of the week he's been happily munching the garden, yet yesterday he decided upon doing an edge run - he decided to eat his own cable.

Will be patching it tonight.

One thing i've noticed is that the mobile app doesn't seem the great and often has no connection to Dave. I'm guessing it's actually Dave not having decent connection to the wifi.

My Flymo has been back out nearly a week now and 3 times it’s stopped due to low battery. What’s the likely cause? Has the guide wire sunk too low into the ground for it to find it to get home?

Too cold, or battery on its way out. How old is it?

Could well be knackered battery - I've replaced mine.

Or, if it can't find the guide wire back and roams around aimlessly until it runs out of battery
Or, if it finds the guidewire but when following it back hits an obstacle and goes off in a different direction it causes an endless cycle

I've had the last problem this year. The grass was so long that it struggled and so a couple of times it was trying to find its way home and hitting an obstacle. After two weeks it has got most of it back down to a level where it can operate normally.

First test (mine is a Gardena but similar I think) is to get it to follow the guide wire out to ensure it is sensing it. Whilst the manual on mine says the light will flash a different colour if it doesn't detect it, it doesn't and will try and carry on without it (as long as the perimeter wire is OK).

I'd suggest the cold could cause it to struggle. I put mine out last weekend but it was back in by Sunday night after seeing the weeks forecast. Hopefully it'll be back out next week.

I bought it in July, so I’m hoping the battery hasn’t gone already!

Might be worth a full settings reset then. Mine can be a bit funny after the winter lay up, but it is getting on for 5.

1st cut in a while and it has failed after a few hours, "Cutting system blocked" - only it's not, it's completely clear.

I have removed the disc that the blades are mounted on, and the guard beneath it, but it is all completely clear.

Any ideas?

When you turn it on the blades never spin up... motor drawing too much current?

Thanks

I took it to bits, gave it a good clean, and put it back together and seems to be working fine again...

I took mine out a couple of weeks ago but haven’t switched it back on as the garden is still a bit too water logged. I can see that Flymo seems to be the mower of choice on here but I tend to prefer Robomow - RS series, mainly because of its floating deck. Mine’s an RS630 - over kill for my garden which is only 100ft by 40ft wide, but the RS series are the best out there IMO.
