I've been complaining they still need guide wires and you want them to spot turds?

Husqvarna 450x can cut 1.2 acres.
Very difficult to get to cut right up to a step boarder.
Does a good job flattening mole hills. Wouldn't like to see what happens with a turd.

It gets 'mulched' along with the grass.

There seem to be a few very similar ones - Flymo, Gardena and McCulloch . If you look at the specs, they all claim different sizes - 400m2, 400m2/700m2 and 1000m2.

As I've said previously, look underneath and they actually have Husqvana branded components.

ETA - and if that sort of thing floats your boat, the Gardena "garage" (cover) fits the Flymo (and therefore probably the McCulloch)

I think I'm going to go for the robomow, ordering this week will upload some pictures next week all being well.

Edit - for some reason the basic robomow use a Lead acid battery? Bit strange thought they all used Lithium ion. WIll have a rethink.

Rx12u. Looking on their website so does the next model up which is about £800. No idea why they use that older style of batteries.

Ive gone for the Bosch 400 connect. Should be here Friday.

How are people getting on with them? Looking at a Worx for a family member. Does the Mower need to stay 100% within range of the wifi for it to work with the app?

This looks great value?

https://www.johnlewis.com/robomow-rx12u-robotic-la... @ £499

My grass is ~5m x ~4m total, flat and edged with raised borders. My petrol self-propelled is completely overkill for it.
New to the robo concept but I simply have to have one, cutting the grass myself is only mildly preferable to sawing my limbs off with a blunt rusty saw.

This one above: looks good, big enough for my garden, Robomow are an acceptable brand, no? My question is, I assume I have to go out and push a button to set it off? Not the most overwhelming task in the world, but I wondered whether having one which I say "mow the lawn at 9pm every Monday Wednesday and Friday" and completely forget about it and the sodding grass, would be better?

The Flymo is only £499 as well, and looking at the reviews & the fact it is Amazon's top selling robot mower - you can't go wrong.

It's just too small for our needs frown

Im not sure about the Flymo but my Bosch doesnt connect to the wifi at all - I dont think any of them do. They just transmit back to the base station. My Bosch Connect 400 has a sim card in it so can transmit to my phone anywhere in the world. So you can check on it's progress etc. Not really vital and if it hasnt been in the sale when i bought it I wouldnt of bothered as they do the normal 400 without the 'connect' functionality for less money. I dont bother really using the phone app feature, it's more a fit and forget item.

One thing about Robotic mowers is that they still dont do around the edge - so I still have to get my normal mower out every 7 - 10 days and run it round the edge. Granted this only takes 2 or 3 minutes but would of been nice if the Bosch did it all.

It occasionally gets stuck and falls off the edge of the lawn but this is just teething problems. Every time it has been stuck I go out and adjust the guide wire. I think I may of had it too close to the edge of the lawn.

Apart from that with regular Nitrogen feeding my lawn has never looked better. I set it to cut 4 times a week.

Most of them have calanders built in. You can either set it to 'Auto' and it will cut itself when it needs it (not sure how it works that out) or do as I do and set it for Mon Wed Fri Sun at 10am.

Nice one, thanks. Must admit I thought Flymo was a dirty word on PH, right up there with tramp stamps and Reebok Classics hehe

And the 1200R has the programmable times/days options too by the look of it. Think I shall order right away.

That Flymo looks ok for the money and has had loads of great reviews on Amazon.

We bought the Flymo last year on Amazon Prime day for £349 - we had been looking at £1000 Robomows, but felt it was worth a punt at that price, despite being told that "Flymo is st" by pretty much everyone.

Happy to report that I've not cut the grass since. I periodically brush "him" out, have changed the blades once, and have even given it a few coats of DoDo Juice hehe

I got worried about pigeon crap, so bought the Gardena branded "garage" and it's been fine. A couple of googly eyes later and "Mowbi" as he's known is probably chomping away as I type.

It's quiet, thus far it's worked without any issues. We love him.

When we say it doesn't do edges - how close are we talking?

Is this all edges or just some certain type of edges?

Our lawn is enclosed on the rear, wall & fence on all sides - would we be left with an area we need to strim or do i have to get the mower out?
