My heating never gets switched off, 365 days a year it's on and controlled by the thermostat. It's fking cold in Scotland all the time.

Still off, but this week I'm thinking about it.

Well, I'm wearing a jumper, bodywarmer and scarf indoors, so I guess it's time to turn on the heating. Will put it on in the morning while I'm getting ready as it'll be too cold to want to stand still. I suppose I could jump about while getting ready to warm up but I'm not broke.

Just a fan heater. Considered putting the central heating on but as I've been sat in the lounge all evening and I like a cold bedroom, no need for it yet.

Not long to go now though. Handily my Merc decided to blow a headlight tonight, so I can replace the pair in the next few days and be happy that I have forward vision through the winter.

Was a little brisk this morning so I decided to fire it up for 20 mins to make sure it's all in good order before it's really needed. It was, which was nice. Stat set to 18 here too, however it's 24 in here at the moment despite being 4 degrees outside so it'll be a while before it's on again probably.

Single digit highs and frost every night , snow last weekend , so yes the heating is on plus the fire is lit most nights .

It’s on a thermostat but it’s come on the last couple of evenings for a bit.

I really don’t get the whole has to be switched on a certain date mindset, I guess this is an old fashioned thing?

Mine's controlled by EvoHome so I don't actually ever turn it on or off.

It has decided to kick in this morning though, probably because I still have several windows open all night and the temperature dipped I think.

Slightly odd really as I'm still wearing shorts and t-shirt when not at work!

Mine is permanently set to 18 and 12, so I never need to "put it on".

But it is getting colder, so I cranked it up to 22 yesterday to see what would happen. Hot radiators and nothing else, happily.

Mine was left on all summer but it never turned on, this morning noticed it was 0.5 degrees above the turn on temperature on the Nest. Think I will drop that by 0.5 degrees tonight to keep it off haha.

On yet? nope. but that's because the boiler is dead, it just won't fire up. switching it on/off again is like playing a slot machine, it stays on when you hit jackpot. Will need a new boiler. not keen on dropping £1-3k on one though.

Tado fired up in earnest this morning. When I opened the blinds there was frost on the building opposite so I guess it was warranted!

We have an automation item called a thermostat, it’s clever stuff

In the summer in make sure the boiler fires for the heating once a week of so for 5 mins to keep everything happy

I suspect plumbers are going to be getting a lot of calls today

Heating? I'm still wearing shorts!

I had to scrape ice off the windscreen for the second time this week earlier but it's nowhere near heating weather yet.

It’s that time of year now where late afternoonI wander across the house from the study, where I’ve been wearing a jumper and slippers.
As I near the living room I’ll start to feel the waft of warm air across the top of my head where some heat has escaped through the door, confirming that the OH has lit the 8kw log burner in a 200 ft2 room and has it going full pelt as she likes to work sat on the floor.
Even the dogs will be pressed against the French doors for the cooling effect of the windows after lying ambitiously close to the burner to start off.
Highest reading I have seen is 30 degrees at eye level.
It makes a change from that day where I was working from home boiling hot in a pair of shorts and taking a shower every two hours earlier in the year.
