Difference between Velux GGL and GZL ?
Discussion
Both are 'regular' centre-pivot; I'm struggling to see the difference anywhere and to understand whether cosmetically these are essentially the same and I can mix them
Velux website only shows "GGL", but many suppliers seem to stock GZL and not GGL
I need nine @ 78x118, pine, so any suggestions on diso suppliers also welcome

Looks like GGL is white and GZL is pine? But GZL isnt on the Velux site that I can see so it may be an old code.Velux website only shows "GGL", but many suppliers seem to stock GZL and not GGL

I think the window you want is GGL3070 - £284. The MK08. But for some reason it looks like the pine doesnt have many glazing options with it.

Thanks, yes I agree GGL3070 is current code - but both white and pine are GGL on that price list so I don't think GGL/GZL signifies white/pine
My reason for asking is that I have chance to buy some unused pine "GZL MK06 1050 78X118" at about half list price, which is a good saving, but I need to be confident they will reasonably match new GGL3070's which is probably what I'll have to get for the remainder

The standard finish on a Velux is now white painted not pine, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the code. Price wise I think white painted is cheapest followed by pine then white pvc. As for discounts try your local builders merchants, Jewson etc should be happy to do at least 20% off list.

Phone velux and ask them, they are very helpful.
Ha ha yes - seems obvious :-)I've spoken to them - basically the GZL is an EU model, not supplied in UK now (or ever) so they were not willing to advise whether it's same as GGL or not.
They generally suggested the GZL 'might' be more basic/lower quality, but I got the feeling this was their reaction to the GZL probably being an unauthorised grey import (though sold by several UK websites) rather than any specific spec difference
