I'm not disagreeing, but why are boxed in cisterns (do you mean vanity units?) and wall hung pans/basins etc so much better than more traditional alternatives. Just because there's more work involved in wall mounting a pan, why does that make it better?

It was probably a pantry that’s been converted to either have the boiler, as tonker suggests or to still be a pantry at the top but the bottom given way to a washing machine.

It looks like an elderly person’s pad and my first thought re the bed on the landing is that it was put there for the night nurse or for when the family visit.
Boiler is on opposite wall so just a random cupboard

Whatever people's tastes are (well, of course, I prefer the slicker looking modern style), the traditional style is more practical especially when you have a cistern that gets old and leaks water onto the floor. I noticed it pretty quickly but if it were boxed in, then I wouldn't have noticed water sitting on the wooden floor for months...

Those alloy wheels suit the house perfectly.

Isn't this the house that was in the DM for being taller than had planning for?

Good spot.

Just found the article, been ordered to re-do the roof at a cost of £200k (sounds a lot for a roof!). https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffo...

I thought that house looked familiar.

Guess that's why the car is for sale!

Owners too lazy/cut corners to take out the agreed 2.5ft of dirt under the house as per the original signed off plans, then retrospectively changed the plans once the house was built and are whining about the fallout of not being able to afford it all now.

Insert joke about 'should have spent some of that £500k on a builder that can read measurements on a drawing' - NB it was blatantly the arrogant owner who said 'who care's we'll just get retrospective planning afterwards'

MWAHAHAHAHA. Who's keen for a road trip up to watch the demo?

If they were to remove the loft conversion and keep the pitched roof they would surely bring it to within the height limit.

Wonder if the enforcement notice has been appealed yet. If so, it’ll be interesting to see the outcome.

Article said they had three months before enforcement, so nothing until August I should think.

I think we have a winner. Just horrible. A crass version of a country house by someone who has never seen one.

It's amazing how much money has been sunk into so little taste.

It will likely appeal to a 23yo basketball pro who just got a huge contract.

In fairness, it was never going to be easy furnishing a mausoleum.
