You don’t think that happens? What, do you think a nice young couple with children are going to move in there? Get real.

I think this place qualifies:

£1/4 million for a house that will be at the bottom of a cliff in the near future, and is "...yet to benefit from mains electricity."

It's got a fair few years to go I think - the cottages have been on the cliff edge for at least 100 years (a map from 1907 shows them only a few metres further back).

Next door would go for $1.8 - 2million and is only a 1000 sqf 2 bed 1 bath place... location location location.

This:

or this:

Crappier location, but nicer final house.

£450k for a small 1960s flat-roof three bedder in perennially unfashionable* West Byfleet.

- Must be an amazing interior refurb?
- err... if not, at least they fixed the Artex ceilings?
- err... if not, at least it's got plenty of outside space?

Well, maybe not so much. But on the plus side, even if you're a shortarse you'd never need to stand on a chair to change the lightbulbs. That's got to be worth something, right?

* - I grew up there and lived in the area for 32 years, give or take, I think I get to make that judgement.

The EA’s description is a masterclass in BS:

‘This house really is a Tardis’ erm, the pictures don’t give this illusion.

‘On entering you are greeted by real oak flooring...’ what, you mean REAL oak. Wow.

‘Off the hallway ........... where the real oak flooring continues and is complemented by the professionally fitted “Sanderson” French shutters....’. Jeez, more REAL oak; and the PROFESSIONALLY fitted shutters are a deal clincher.

‘The hand-crafted banister.....’ lovingly created by an artisan craftsman on a nearby industrial estate.

And the best is saved for last: ‘The secluded, rear courtyard ..... is ordained with hanging baskets and tubs’.

Entertaining wordology from an office junior who dreamt it up after a long lunch hour at the local JD Wetherspoon’s.

hehe amazing isnt it. What a disgusting looking house. And nothing can be done to even really improve it at least not outside.

A converted garage just outside of Cambridge. Notice how none of the pictures are of 'full' rooms - i wonder why?
If ever someone from abroad wanted an example of the craziness of UK property that link would be useful. Forget the million pound 1-bedders in London, £300k for a converted garage in what appears to be a (former) council estate in Cambridge. Brilliant.
Bit of background. Not a council estate, 1980’’s development, very popular village and few odd factors make Milton very expensive. Good transport access, A10 A14 junction, new Cambridge North station, park and ride and a cycle way in to Cambridge. Then over the A14 is the science park. Lots of people who come and work there high salary but don’t want to move, so rent or buy a Monday to Friday place. Big market in Cambridge for this type of place, so quite few of these conversions around. Still looks horrible and to be honest over priced! Not forgetting the land fill and sewage works on either side smile

This house in Sydney is being listed for around $1.8 million.

The agent describes it as, "A deceased estate presenting a recent interesting history."
