I'd encourage everyone to take a look around the northern part of the estate on Street View, what a bizarre place! Looks like a bad American movie set

God that's grim Dallas meets the North of England
This makes me laugh, big strong electric gates for security and a little fence a child can jump over - https://goo.gl/maps/r4iVq4W4o2q
Whilst i get why people may mock the place i don't actually mind it hehe I am sure once all the newly planted hedges have established around perimeters and the bright red tarmac dulls down a bit i reckon it will look alright.

I know this estate quite well, a mate of mine does a lot of contract electrical work. It is part of Wynyard Hall, owned by Sir John Hall who built the Metro Centre and owned Newcastle united. Quite a few footballers lived here and Duncan Bannatyne before his Mrs cleaned him out hehe

I agree with a lot of the comments here, around this way many aspire to live here, its full of new money Richer than you snobbery types, its my worst nightmare. For the same money i would love somewhere a lot nicer.
I know it pretty well too. Imagine the kind of couple who made a couple of million selling the chain of tyre fitters/carpet warehouses/solar panel & UPVC installers on Teesside and wanted to show the neighbours how far up in the world they'd gone.

They all go to Wynyard. They all want to show one another how well they've done.

They all hate each other.

Horrible place. Mates bought there when they returned from 10 years in Canada, lasted a year and left.

I saw a place with a kitchen that colour but probably a decade older. It did look cool, so in time.....

I'm not sure this counts as a nightmare but I wouldn't like to wake up in the purple bedroom and the whole place gives me the creeps - partly due to the furniture.

You'd have to enjoy the noise of planes too.

Think i've been in that house, it's erm, interesting.

The noise of the planes is normally from the sky diving planes, but get some lovely historic stuff a few times a year!

Is the airfield that noisy? Looks like a tiny place.
It can be, particularly in Summer and when there's parachuting.
Yeah all those skydivers with parachutes that haven't opened screaming all the way down before thudding into the petunias I suppose could get tiresome. biggrin
Funny you should say that, one person I believe was killed whilst landing through some rotor blades at that airfield.

Another sky diver landed in a nearby kitty kennel biggrinhttp://thebigcatsanctuary.org/

I believe he somehow was rescued.

Yes, that was an awful tragedy re the helicopter. Some years back now.

The cat sanctuary is great. But yes, it is better to book a visit, rather than just drop in.

Awful house but plane noise wouldn't be horrific. I had a very good mate who lived around the corner about 1/2 mile away but even closer to Headcorn airfield and the planes noises were never a problem.

My point was they'd be flying almost directly overhead as part of the circuit pattern, which they may not be half a mile away. Not horrific, but not rural idyll.

If I had the money and was looking down that neck of the woods, for £150k more and with better transport links to London - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prop...

London Ashford Airport (near Lydd) is also down that way biggrin

And on the other side, what appears to be some woman putting out a rotary washing line in the front garden of a multi million pound Lego house.

Horrible for so many reasons, before you even see the price.

Ugly new build rear is unsurprisingly worse than the gopping front, on the end of a row with a dodgy looking underpass to the main road that runs right along the rear giving road users a nice look into the first floor windows and garden. Interior design by bedlam lunatic asylum's shiny floor department. A burglar's paradise with multiple exit routes to all areas.

The view from the main road - https://goo.gl/maps/GPnRV71idJy

Ps. £1.6m all those big glass windows at the front and they go cheap on the door - https://goo.gl/maps/YBjrrsrsPbm
I don't want to meet the person who would choose to live there.

I quite like the business park feel. I'd happily run a small business from that building. Oh, hang on...

Having used Headcorn for skydiving several years ago, I can confirm the planes spend a long time going round and round in circles while they get up to altitude. You can hear them all the way up, and all the way down, and if the weather's good (say, on a day you'd like to sit outside...) they can do multiple trips in a day.

This is less than a mile away!

https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/48758620...

I know it's only 4 bed but it's 2/3rds the price!
And it's got 2 garages (but no balcony)

Nice place - but the telly and sofa on the landing looks odd.

What is happening to "plot 3" three houses up the road from the one for sale. Construction seems to have stopped for well over a year if you go back in time on the streetview!!!

Be nice to live in a £1M+ house and have an abandoned building site next to you!

Going back in time on Google maps seems to confirm they built 2 houses on one plot.
