The mind boggles

Who'd have thought that the conversion of a house to a foundry could be done so sympathetically.
I’ve been in that place. It’s amazing, in a Victorian sort of way. smile

I think they've just taken the fact it's grade II listed as an excuse to throw every royal theme going at the interior.

Bonkers decor, it makes Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen look tasteful
LLB is tasteful, and bloody funny, well, on DIY SOS he is... paperbag
I have fond memories of people's reactions on Changing Rooms when his disaster pieces were unveiled to them.

They had a perfectly 90's all shades of beige type style and LBB has basically gone all out colour wheel / Rubiks cube on their living room.

You know it's a rough neighbourhood when they have to armour the porch.

In our village. Not the worst nightmare around, but priced similarly to others of it's ilk around it, which are not needing doing up.

Gardens where you can't really use the spaces, with it's current layout.

Streetview about half a mile off too. Down the road and turn left after the large stone wall.

I quite like it biggrin
Stylish!
I love those absolutely batst crazy homes that occasionally crop up on this thread. They are so mental that you’re always going to smile.

Nice, middle of the road, workman’s cottage. Open the front door and wham!! Screaming mental hits you in the face. And each room is more mental than the last.

I think this is how Thatcher envisioned her ‘care in the community’ political culture working out.

It could lead to a interesting negotiation over curtains and carpets. "I'll give you 2 grand to take them with you...All of them!"

This place is quite something. No idea of the back story but there are articles from 2016 when it was up for sale for £13m, although that included the marina which appears to have had some planning issues... Apparently the guy spent £4.7m doing it up, so a relative bargain to be had!!

Why would you remove the perfectly inoffensive porch, cladding and block paving? Why??!!!

Like a bad acid trip.

Who in their right mind would come up with something like that, it's bordering on insanity.

That's been posted before, if it wasn't the Real Estate Nightmares thread it was the Real Estate Porn one. I used to go past it every day going to work.

You want a home to be cosy and comfortable. At what point did someone think they wanted a beach indoors?!

Yup. Is the difference that it is now the receivers attempting to shift it?

Unless you happen to find an identical lunatic to the one who created it but with much more money then it needs to be priced accounting for a total stripping back to a shell and reworking.

That’s been the subject of some very serious legal issues recently including fraudulent sales of house boat berths etc.

It’s a landmark building and more realistic price wise now butbit won’t sell at that price in 10 years.

Didn't Bruce Lee have to fight his way to the top of there in Game of Death?
