Estate agent declares thank fk they have finally sold it, in typical estate agent speak. rofl

Estate agent says on the listing 'SOLD BY FINE AND COUNTRY - After being on the market for 5 years and having been on the market with numerous agents across Derbyshire, We are delighted to confirm the sale of this fabulous home. After 60 viewings and 10 0ffers, we have generated whilst being on the market with us, we are delighted for both the buyer and seller. If you are looking to sell something special then please do get in touch with us'
That is something else, house & advert!
It's been bought! I didn't think any of Saddam Hussain's sons were still alive.
Wayne Rooney?
Too tasteful for him.
He's maybe refined his taste with age........but prob not biggrin

I'd imagine the offer they finally accepted was more favorable to the buyer than the seller.

I don't understand this property at all. Just off Deptford High Street too, not where one would expect there would be a big market for 1.75 mil properties. It also seems big and small at the same time. And wtf is that chain on the table!?
Used to go there a lot as a kid as it was very local to a girl I fancied and just down the road from my school. I lived in Deptford from 1952 to about 1972 and nothing would make me want to go back and live there ever again. It's a sthole and I, personally, would require the full asking price just to go and see it.

Awful road in an awful area. I’d save 750k and get an older 3 bed penthouse flat in millennium quay. Right on the Thames waters edge. Much better!

I used to live in one of the new build flats next to Deptford Bridge DLR. The place is an absolute st hole (well, at least it was 10 / 12 years ago). Unless you desperately need to be in Canary Wharf in 15 mins I can see no reason to live there, let alone spend £1.75m laugh

I thought it was a relatively common thing to be honest with woodburner flues for that reason. Can't say I was ever tempted with the aesthetics of that. Surely must be a burn risk when its sat halfway into the room with no chuffing fire beneath it suggesting your should keep clear..

They must have been desperate to get the burner installed to the point they're prepared to go up through the bedroom floor! Wouldn't it get, you know, really hot? Not exactly child friendly?

Yes, as I say, must be a massive burn risk, not least because you don't have the reminder of a fire sat immediately beneath it. Imagine waking up only to brush against the thing and find someone downstairs has chosen to light a fire 30 mins beforehand..

Don't know whether desperate is the right term but certainly weird. I should imagine fitting it that way takes a truckload more work and more cost.

They also thought it was a good idea to hard surface the entire front garden except a patch in front of the lounge window. Then obscure the view/light with a crappy yucca plant laugh

Surely you need some kind of sign off for the installation of a wood burner, I can't see how that would pass any inspection?

If you click enlarge on the rightmove photo you see the fire stop plate at the bottom.

We had the twin-wall chimney for our woodburner go up through our bedroom but in the corner and boxed in with plenty of space around the pipe. The boxing in had vents top and bottom and it worked very well with no need for heating to go on in the bedroom. That installation shown would not pass any inspection I guess due to the risks stated.

It’s weird. And it’s a detached house so finding an external wall to flue up would have been easy enough.

Ergonomically that’s a nightmare to live with. But then again I had a Caterham so many friends / family still have burn marks on their left inner calves. Their injuries never made me consider changing the car hehe

Looks like they might have got the idea off next door judging by picture 1.

Haven't looked at great depth but looks as though that is through the master bedroom from the floor plans too. Guess at least that limits child risk and is the primary room you want warm upstairs, but given the bedroom sizes that must hugely limit the room layout.

As people have said, all very strange just to get a little residual flu heat into the (small) bedroom. Would have been easy to go through the external wall and I would have thought that small room would get warm enough from the heat below without any flu passing through.

I live in Milennium Quay, can't work out why anyway would spend a million quid for a flat here! Sure, it's a lovely development, and a nice place to live, but a million quid?! Our two bed rented flat is 750k, which is far too much, despite being quite nice with a stunning view of the Wharf.

We viewed a few flats in the development at around £450k, and they were properly tiny.

700k for this - zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/52167437

Saying that, the 1.3m quid penthouse flat that was up a few weeks ago has either sold or been de-listed ...
