It’s changed agents and had a price drop of circa £100k (IIRC) but the horrific interior decor remains.
The room with all the baby paraphernalia, and a causal barbell with 60kg on it. (picture 9).

We viewed a place similar (perhaps a bit worse) when we were looking, old boy in his own and had died, every room full of stuff. It was a lovely house but would have been a full strip back and several skips to clear the lot

It was the smell that got us though, it got into your nostrels and stayed there, we then noticed that the 3 piece suite was missing an armchair near the fire and there was a patch of carpet where you could see the chair had obviously been

It quickly became apparent the old boy had died in his chair, they'd removed the chair and marketed the place, i'll never forget that smell yuck

These are the sort of houses I buy, I like ‘em hehe

Do your maths on the clearance / refurb and offer accordingly. Everyone’s a bit insulted by the offer... fair enough. Just sit and wait. There’s not much competition as 9/10 people cba sorting it out. After the initial outrage of your offer has settled and no other offers have come in... you start negotiations from your offer number rather than the agents asking price. I love a nice house that’s poorly poorly presented / marketed by its lazy / feckless vendors.

I really like the matchbox radiators, and the expanse of tarmac, oh and the not concealed circuit breaker box, and what's with the roof proportions? Looks like a small fat kit wearing a comically sized sombrero..
I like the 2 bathrooms where you open the door too much and the shower screens shatter

This is hideous, and somehow looks cramped on the inside.

Location is bad as well.

The interior’s particularly bad. What’s with the fencing in the dining room? silly

And in 2 of the bedrooms there is a sofa at the end of the bed.

TBF I've seen a lot worse - I suspect they've tried to go for an art-decco/modern mash-up and fallen rather short but easy enough to resolve

That's how we bought our dreamhouse last July. Didn't realise it then - thought it was all 'market conditions' at the time.

But after we'd moved in, and realised it had a fabulous 'Youth Hostel' type front door . . . the sellers and agent brought people in / out through a dingy conservatory, and realised the rooms weren't a little small . . . they were just full of huge 1970s furniture, etc, we realised we weren't actually compromising as much as we thought.

Huge plot, albeit long and thin, great location, double garage with power . . . not getting the presentation right must have cost them at least 10% off the price . . . and made it affordable for us.

What kind of jazz cabbage makes mosaic kitchen tiles make sense?

Anything could be in there, treasure, antiques or Lord Lucan's body. Or lots of dead mice. Worth a £1 punt to find out.

Or you could have borrowed a ladder and had a look in the window.

That way, you'd still have a quid for some chips.

I thought it strange that one of the adjoining owners wasn't interested in bidding for it.

It's pretty obvious that it 'belongs' to one of the neighbours. Same brickwork, same window...

I'd say it probably did at one time, although it must have adjoined both sides at one time as it has doors on both sides (bricked up). The council has/had owned it since 1966.
