I'm sure there could be done bigger ones in there somewhere
Talking about windows look at this design abortion - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prop...

Roof dormer isn't in the middle. 1st floor windows not equally spaced and the odd bay window and extra window next to it. There isn't even a wall in the way for the reason for them to be poorly spaced out either.

If you imagine that the downstairs bog wouldn't have been there at the time the house is pretending it was built, then it is symmetrical.

There's definite cod-history in that design, and whilst it's cynical, it's not an 'abortion'.

Let's not get into why that wouldn't have been the right word anyway.

I dunno but I see a lot of joints in this thread, and the other thread, which are new or recently built houses which look like they're repros of something built in 1947. And that includes what look like little sash windows....
Most new/recently built houses are (inauthentic) repros (Victorian/Edwardian/Georgian style).

Unfortunately.

Only 2 lines next to it but it's expands to 4 at either end (Crewe to Stockport line), so do fast trains use that line?

If so I bet it makes their washing dry quickly if they go past.

I wouldn't countenance living next to a busy road, but a rail line really wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I lived in a house at uni with the line going into Plymouth station at the bottom of the garden and I used to quite enjoy the trains.

Not sure I'd be on board living at the bottom of a railway embankment though as there used to be the occasional stories of people getting poo thrown into their gardens from the open train looslaugh

I really don't think that's too bad at all. Wouldn't be my choice, but far from being bad.

thing is though that it appears there's quite a busy road close by too! Our last place was about 150 feet from the railway - the advantage being that ALL trains stopped at the station so it wasn't screaming past the garden. That being said after a couple of weeks I honestly didn't even notice the train - road traffic on the other hand....

Looks like someone has converted the garage into the most useless waste of space.

I despise agents who apply hideous fake sky backgrounds (photos 21,22,23,27). It's Mansfield, not Tellytubby land!

For me its the fact you could a train come through your lounge window that puts me off lol, track looks 20-30ft away. It's a possible wet dream for a train fan though.

The agent’s excruciating hyperbole takes the profession’s justified reputation for descriptive bullst to a whole new level here.

If you're watching telly, and you need a pee, you have to go through the dining room, kitchen, porch, 'store room' and hallway to get there.

I wouldn’t call it a nightmare but I wish people would stop needlessly converting / extending. What a waste and building for building’s sake.
