Totally bizarre. Do students really pay £600 a month rent these days? Ten years ago we baulked at more than half that PP, though given the tripling of other university costs I wouldn't be too surprised.
I suppose it depends how close to the university and in which town.

In 2014 my son was paying £375 per person per month about 1/2 a mile from Univerity of York.
8 of them with 3 bathrooms and a cloakroom. Large kitchen with double of everything, and big table.
It had a lounge and a brick built cycle shed with power.

Also, are students born in the 90’s going to get a reference to an 80’s TV show?

Despite the lack of floor plan, it looks, on the face of it, a good set up for a student HMO.
(I pay €530 / month for a large furnished room in a shared apartment (3 others) in Strasbourg for my daughter.)

Have a hmo next to my in laws being built. Not sure it'll get approval to be an 8 bed, so assuming 6 and the current rent request it works at at £700 a room. In Bristol, just off of filton avenue so a mile walk from nearest uni.

Madness.

90s? Students moving in to this would have been born after 9/11.

Looks like it could turn into an American style frat house, which could get messy. Those sofas look exactly like those I have seen in a prison visiting room, sensible as they are probably cheap and could be bought in bulk, but it is hardly like being in Dallas.

Bizarre, from the 2 doors on either side of the porch to the warren of downstairs rooms, 9 bedrooms and not a single en-suite bathroom.

Ah, thought so, downstairs "extension" is a conversion of garages - https://goo.gl/maps/KXCSxtpd3mHmVdM29

Hey Reading's now that bad! If you drive over the bridge, keep going north eventually you get to Oxfordshire. So Reading's not all bad :-)

I Once went to Reading. For my great Aunts 80th Birthday party. On a boat up the Thames.

I didn't find it any worse than oh...Skelmersdale....

What I concluded is there's a Reading in every region. Unfortunately.

If it had a bit of land it would be quite something but it's just been plonked in the middle of houses.

The best thing to be said for the interior is that you can’t see the exterior.
