Phil Neville's place. Do you need some monochrome in your life?
Had a look at the aerial photos, never seen an area like that before with so many detached houses taking up so much space!

Fancy living in one of London's most prestigious postcodes?

Literally on the doorstep of Harrods.

Complete with Parking permit!

The cost of this you ask......

a mere £150k!!

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/103660748#/

The catch?

Rail fare to London is about £6k+ a year for me, that would pay for itself in 25 years if you had a weekend home elsewhere.

Fascinating! Perhaps that's better value than anything else in the area if you have a reason to need to stay there a lot, simply because everything else is so much more expensive? You could certainly sleep in there and set up a very compact base.

Wonder why Phil Neville moved, I was vaguely involved in the ground works involved with his other place 15 years ago. It was cantilevered above a cliff somewhere near Bolton, so much more interesting than a random bit of Hale.

As bland as he seems to be. Panic room though so perfect if you're thinking about buying a Golf R

That was Gary Nevilles house, I’ve got the plans for it saved on a hard drive somewhere as a mate worked on it. Phil Neville lived near Rawtenstall up until about 10 years ago, google his house there if you want to see faux county mansion!

Talking of which, where's the garage to keep it in?

I quite like it, only thing I would change is the clock in the sauna area, maybe something made of old valves

Plot seems quite small too

The his and hers initialled gates were enough to tell you it was a shrine to tastelessness.

Ha ha, did your copy of the plans specify which cars went where in the garage too?

I counted 15 TVs and probably a similar number of sofas.

You could probably do it up a bit nicer and AirBnb that for £40/50 a night, over 160 years that's a decent return!
And you could also probably be creative with the parking space and "sublet" it to an Arab in need for a decent chunk...

A distinct lack of internal photos in the agents listing.

You can do some amazing things with small spaces, so lots of potential. Some great examples here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_zQ777U6YTyatP3P...

Looking at the plans, the garage is now the games room !

Some of the stories I heard about the job were comical, quite a few revolved around his brother in law’s clerk of works role!

A friend of mine had a flat a similar size in Seoul. I'm not sure how much that was worth but the property ownership/lease/rent arrangement over there completely baffled me. Managed to sleep three in there once though!

before clicking on the youtube link i knew exactly what you meant. i love the nevertoosmall channel. really makes you think about how much space a single person needs. for someone in the UK, they'd think its tiny. but it's quite common in places like japan. i have a friend that's currently living in his own 'apartment' thats your average hotel room + a single stove & kitchen. paris has tons of small spaces like this too.
