3mm concrete?

Bullst.

OpulentBob CEng (concrete specialism)
Yes . Like I said. The finish required allows for that thickness .The unit doors can carry the weight etc . The doors are first covered first with a special mesh to stop cracking and to allow for a good bond etc . Its a specialist market . And one where a lot of practise and specialists companies are used .These are not huge companies. Just guys who have taken the time to work out how it can be done.

Quality private "stuff" :-)

Today was sorting out the subfloor for a kitchen that is nearly finished . . Its a bit "left field" as it will have very thick leather flooring. Concrete covered units including the doors etc .Works tops will Copper . Concrete has been a funny one , Its only 3mm thick but added a lot of "issues". But we found the right mix and application .
No wonder they want it private, sounds tasteless as fk!

Suddenly that trust you mentioned earlier seems to have evaporated!

We work in some pretty nice places and for "famous/rich" people. I've never had that level of restriction placed on me. I guess they trust me not to put pictures of me wearing their underwear on facebook.
Or maybe you've not got to the level where your cash has a camera in it?

Firstly earlier you said 'we found the right mix and solution' implying you were hands on, now you are indicating that a 3rd party was on site doing the work whilst you were in the nearby Nandos taking advantage of the limitless refills.
Secondly why didn't you just buy it off the shelf from a large supplier? http://www.leicht.com/en/kitchen/modern-style/conc...

It does sound weird ! But it will look amazing. Its a "kinda" copy of a Kitchen I know of in HK . The leather is costing them a fortune as they wanted it to come from a well known place . Its been laid in 600mm squares . .The idea is it will "Patina" nicely .

If I were the OP i'd want a deposit as he seems to have the ability to talk himself out of a job.

Thank god we've got some proper, decent tradesmen on here.

You seem to be having a problem following whats been said. I was in control, its my project. I work with who I want to to achieve the right sample selection for the client to "sign off" . Then the 3 of us got to work and created the items required . With me at all times been "da boss" .And I dont eat council type food.

As I said , some places are "UBER" security nuts. Thats a 1 hour check in time and the same for going out . Security checking everything. These tend to be the SILLY cost "dirty money" jobs. All private homes etc .

Well, I've never been a trades guy, so I'm not going to try to imply I know more than anyone else - but if I was working on a site like that and found that security had been subcontracted to a taxi booking app, I'd be seriously considering whether they're the sort of people that would pay their bill at the end. No wonder you work pro forma.

Did you pay the concrete guys in advance? Treat others as you expect to be treated and all that.

And you said earlier that
