Garden wall cost?

This is the unsightly hedge in question. The issue I have, is that it's mostly dead nearer the house. I'm not sure how the neighbour would react, but if he didn't have to pay, I guess he'd say yes.
Christ i was expecting something horrible.Thats much nicer than a huge wall would be!
Your garden is several magnitudes larger than the one in the picture you like (more of a courtyard garden where it suits) and it would be very very imposing. And could cost easily £10k+

+1 A brick wall can look brilliant, but it needs to be part of the theme of the garden- more contemporary/urban design.Thats much nicer than a huge wall would be!

Against a lawn it may not look right. How about just doing the dead part at the front as a wall or something?

Am having my party wall fully rebuilt at the moment.
Total bricks needed came in at 2500.
Builder had a Transit tipper so taking away old bricks to hardcore site saved approx 4 skips@ £225 a throw
Overall, rebuild is costing £6.5k.
The builder will get charged at the tip to dispose it. Total bricks needed came in at 2500.

My rubbish collector gets charged £170/ton at the council tip

Maybe you could have a wall by the house where the dead bit of hedge is and keep the rest of the hedge?
Hedge looks fine to me too! I'd perhaps put a nice fence panel or two near the house where it is dead and paint it dark green.....perhaps with trellis on top, grow some nice climbers up it, I think that would blend in better....& cost far less than a wall. You can even use concrete posts and gravel boards and paint them with the woodstain to blend in but be longer lasting...A wall would look too stark....especially compared with the hedge!
Enjoy the savings
