Discussion
this is the one i got after reading this thread

I am happy with it but not got much to compare it to.
these cameras are POE - so you need to budget for POE switch
I bought this one but its only 4 ports. it was priced at £60
http://amzn.to/2q645oL
this one looks ok for the money
http://amzn.to/2p489HE
You also need an NVR - worth getting the matching Dahua NVR which is another £200
You need to consider is the best way of securing your property.
You can start with 1 camera and move it around to really check the angles and numbers required. Maybe a PTZ cam would be beneficial.
good luck

recently bought dahua 2mp starlight camera.
6 cameras and the NVR would be near £1k
Or are you looking for something cheaper.
Are the 6 cameras all outside.
are the areas well lit at night?
Hikvision cameras = £70-£906 cameras and the NVR would be near £1k

Then a micro server running Xpenology = £100
Then 4tb disk = £160
POE Injectors £14
Cat5e or Cat 6 = £100
Not one to hijack the OPs thread, it maybe makes sense to add these questions to an existing CCTV thread.
Has anyone used a Synology to be the NRV? We've got a decent one that has a CCTV app on it and have a pair of 3TB drives in it.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to use some power line type adapters to get the ethernet to the cameras though as it's not currently possible to run cat5 to the correct points, anyone using them without any problems?
