Preventing steam build up in bathroom
Discussion
You need one of these above the shower, which comes on with the light http://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-shower-light-ext...
We have a Trotec de-humidifier outside the bathroom. It's got an adjustable flap on top to direct the air out, so is aimed at the open bathroom door post-rinse, it works really well, bathroom mould-free.
Has a countdown timer to turn off after 1/2/3/4 hours, can run at full tilt, low speed or auto on a humidistat.
Gets used every day in the winter. Fills up the reservoir in a couple of days, so it's really pulling a lot of water out of the air. Comes DHL from Germany with a UK plug adaptor. Takes a day for gas to settle after delivery, really notice the results after first week when area dries out.

We don't have an extractor fan, but may get one now !
You can get one with a humidistat (comes on when there is steam in the room)I'd also recommend using a squeegee in the shower after the last person is done - if you remove all that water the whole room will dry up quicker and you'll get less mould.

You'll also spend a LOT less time trying to clean limescale off the glass and tiles...Ikea do 'em for less than a quid.

This, but buy a better one.We used the manrose mf100t. Around £45 and it's a lot quieter than the above while shifting a lot more air. Can be set to stay on for a while after light is turned off and also set flow rate for desired extraction Vs noise trade off.
