I need to sabotage a bid.

Thanks - we are under offer, yes! Amazing in 10 days: say what you will about EAs but Hamptons worked damned hard for us and so far have been a pleasure to deal with...let's hope we stay on track.
Yep, almost guarantee that Purplepricks wouldnt have got the same result8-P said:
Congrats, brave but I think it will reward you. Its a good size house and could be amazing.
Take it youve seen the Streetview on it? I wont post it but seems to have scaffolding work on the outside going on so guessing some sort of work was being done April 2015. Might be worth finding out what was done at that point, guessing someone has backed out of the project?
We live on the same street! Owners sadly died. Work stopped after plumbing, electrics and roof/guttering were all replaced. They were starting to refit it when the owners died within months of each other Take it youve seen the Streetview on it? Harry I am so pleased you got the offer accepted.
I have been watching your refurb thread on the old house, and when you said you are thinking of selling I was mortified as you have done the house up exactly how I would love to do mine. Everything was perfect.
I also with a heavy heart followed your thread earlier this year.. my heart still goes out to you and Lady F.
But, this is all good, a new start etc, and we all get to watch another amazing refurb thread. Really looking forward to this one.
I wish you and the better half the best of luck...
Thanks Joe - and to all of you who were so supportive when we lost the baby, and who have commented on this and my other threads and helped with advice etc. PH really is great!I have been watching your refurb thread on the old house, and when you said you are thinking of selling I was mortified as you have done the house up exactly how I would love to do mine. Good luck with this Mr F. Hope it all goes through swimmingly and is the start of a fabulous forever home for you, Mrs F and (lets face it, folks on PH are crossing fingers for you on this bit ) a fair few mini-Fs .
The OH and I have recently sold up from a 4 bed pretty nice newish build to a 5 bed detached built in 1897, with solid walls, terribly unsympathetic double glazing, horribly 'individual' decor and weird driveway access but some absolutely lovely rooms with gorgeous features. On paper a fairly idiotic thing to do, however what do spreadsheets know about feelings eh?

This has been a great thread. When I read the opening thread and next couple of pages I was gutted for you because you had missed out on your dream house due to bad timing.
The end result is fantastic and I'm sure you will make it even nicer than your current place. Congratulations and all the best with starting a family.

Good EA's are fantastic. So now all you have to do is get to exchange as soon as possible.
Is that looking fairly straightforward? Are you able to talk directly to vendor?
I always micromanage that bit myself as it's never done till it's done. Random wheels can fall off at any time.
Like when I found tout at the 11th hour that the guy that did a lot of work on my previous place hadn't actually got it certified.
My buyer's lawyer went nuclear but calls several times a day calmed my buyer down. Eventually....

I want to keep the structure as if we get this house, and stay in it, a lift may one day be a great thing to have.
But in the meantime, outdoor kitchen!
Just a though Flash...Pizza oven and barbecue area in an enclosed area connected to the house may be a bit, er, smoky, especially when the timber is a bit wet of the oven hasnt had it's spring seasoning yet (the first firing of the season - unless it's used all year round - can be a lot smoky!).But in the meantime, outdoor kitchen!
I am in Beckenham, but a spit from your soon-to-be new gaff and would be happy for you to visit if you need to know about pizza ovens etc.
Great news!
How does the stamp duty work on this? You already own a 2nd property... but are moving one house for another. the new one will be classed as a 2nd property again. Even though the total number of owned properties has not increased.
Are you subjected to the additional 3% 2nd property stamp duty?
