Steering is a second hand go kart steering from eBay, need to work out how to setup the steering think i may need some universal joints.

Epic thread update, must have got warm ears as I was literally reading the thread yesterday while considering my options for my own build. I'm working on cars being a much cheaper and easier hobby than horses, which is the other thing our 2yo is keen on when not talking about 'daddys yellow car' , her dolls, or our dogs.

Makes a lot of sense to use the whole scooter chassis, I've seen a lot of people fitting the transaxle directly into the Toylander kit, but why not use the whole chassis as you have done.

Presumably by 'stearing' you mean steering wheel, and or column, from a cart. Retaining the front uprights and stubaxles from scooter, but needing a bit of connecting the two bits together! Do you have a photo of the business end? And welding equipment?

I paid £100 for the scooter from Facebook
£40 worth of mdf
£60 Amazon Welder
£30 for a set of tyres with inner tubes which will fit into the existing wheels
£25 for the steering wheel, but this just the wheel, didn't come with the steering assembly, which in hindsight may have been useful

The scooter was designed with a fork steering system, when I fit the steering wheel I can make it work, but the angles totally wrong as the original steering assembly was practically at 90 degrees, ideal if i was building a truck, but I need the steering to be more like 45 degrees. So need to work out how to modify it.

I got myself a cheap stick welder of amazon for £60, welding rod, mask and gloves from tool station, got some scrap steel from the old garage shelving and now need to learn how to weld
