In the spirit of the thread, his didn't get the recognition it deserved.

Been a hectic few weeks but wanted to tell you OP, I've been following this thread over a few different countries and it's been a pleasure to read.

Plenty of good advice and hints and tips, if things go to plan we'd like to do something on a similar but much smaller scale for our little one possibly next summer so all of the info posted is much appreciated.

Wishing you and the family much happiness once it's completed.

(and on a more selfish note, really looking forward to seeing what you do with the lighting as I'm not too sure what I'm going to do with ours thumbup )

As hard as it is you always find a way to take it (often on the chin). There is nothing cheap about that quality.

I know it sounds like I am gushing, but you seem able to swallow it all within your stride and then make it harder.

Sorry, there have been many heavy loads this week. Are you wet?

The rain is terrible.

This is rapidly going downhill!!!
I can take it, I might vary how though else it gets a bit boring.

It's not always a case of finding it, I mostly make it hard for myself.
You (and the boys) have made me gush, more than damp, and heavy chested with this coming to a climax.

All the emotion, this project has been fab.

I can keep it up

I only got about half an hour in before being called away to do something useful! It is a good set up, but could now go in one of two directions to be decent or terrible!

Thank, much appreciated. I actually woke up last night genuinely thinking I could hear lorries and diggers going out side. I had to get up and go to the window to check - the sound was buzzing in my ears after two intense weeks of it!!!

Just PM me if there is anything else you would like to know. I seriously recommend Nick if you are looking for a contractor - he (and his team) have made this possible).

Will got here for 7:00 this morning to get the place ready for a full on attack tomorrow. Ring beam to be completed first thing tomorrow, truck coming to take away the last (hopefully!) of the ground clearance. Another 7 tons of hardcore coming and being compacted and then the paving starts to go down.

Plant is coming and being connected on Tuesday with the oil tank arriving Wednesday. This means we can start filtration and hoovering Tuesday afternoon and heating Wednesday afternoon.

I decided to go with Nick's mate (who I have just found out is also Will's uncle!) the stonemason to get the copping stones done properly. This will take a couple of weeks and whilst we have a temporary fix I am making this the last priority as it seems pointless to spend an entire day cutting and laying something we will be taking up in a couple of weeks time. It does not stop the pool being used.

I'll post some more picks after the tidy up.

Cheers all!

Ace thread! Work started 10th, so I reckon you're on target for the 3 weeks with ease smile

Note to self : never show OH this thread. Takes me three weeks to decorate one room...

Yes, he had a difficult erection to deal with.

He's got it up now though.

That's the problem with these cheap sheds.

Building a pool is very much like making love to a beautiful woman… size up the lay of the land, open things up just enough to ensure a snug fit, carefully slide it into place, check it’s level then ensure it’s fully wet – this may take some time, unless you bring in heavy machinery. If you’re lucky she’ll take a bit of back filling. Finally, clean up, hand over all your money, light your pipe and stand back to admire your handiwork.

Brilliant thread OP, hats off to the builders!

Have I got this right, you're having a patio put down for 2 weeks until the proper one goes down?
