What happened to the tree?
Hi Matt

It became an absolute nightmare (as I was warned)!

Pine needles everywhere clogging up the filters and everything else.

We received planning permission to take it down and are about to lay slabs (we had some to spare) where the pea gravel still is.

The Worlds Worse Shed is also going at last, with a new and larger plant/changing room (which will also serve as cushion storage in winter).

Very well spotted! smile

And, might I add, birds frequented it, and shat all over the new paving, which Julian's PH-sourced paving cleaning and sealing operative found vexing when he was attempted to seal the paving smile

Francesca today!

Looking good Julian!
Will you take offers for the shed? £500 and I’ll take it away for you. 😂😂😂
I’m so pleased you are all still using the pool.
I can bring the boys for the party if you over order beer.

Think I saw the early stages of this but having been away from PH for a while missed the results. Sure you’re getting plenty of great use from it at the moment.

time does fly, and by coincidence i have been reading this thread again recently for much valuable information as we have our own (much smaller) pool built in our holiday home.

It's only 1.8m x 4.6m so a tiddler by comparison but is specifically for sitting in and drinking beer whilst cooling off in Indonesia. (no oil powered heating system required here)

Will do a post in a few weeks that shows the build end to end if anyone is interested.
Do you have a fk off big crane?
Yes please, although I cannot comment on whether it would be appropriate to piggy-back it on this thread...

I assume you have already identified which gardening implement will be immortalised in your thread? smile
Nop, just got a bunch of blokes digging a ditch!!

Sure we can find a few garden implements to line up for the Staring Role, but I doubt that any will reach the Oscar level performance of JulianPH’s veteran star Forky!!!

Hi Julian - yeah, I kind of figured that would be the case - before I replaced my hurricane-smashed enclosure, the trees surrounding my pool caused me so much grief I almost gave up on it.

Your pool deck is so much better without it - it still all looks great and it's pleasing to see and hear that your family continues to enjoy it. Long may that last!

No problem!

It is interesting that you reference this thread, I do think it is one that shows a great sense of community on PH.

Hi John, have a word with Nick (lrdisco) if you have any concerns on your concrete. I think you have guys who know what they are doing and so will be fine, but Nick is your man for a second opinion if you want one.

Your thread is looking realy good BTW! clap

Cheers

Julian

You have done a brilliant job to date and I really wouldn't worry about acts of God!

As a qualified doctor I would suggest that a beer would be a very good idea.

Sorry Julian I meant £500 to take it away :-) :-)
I’m in Morocco on holiday and Rotterdam when I return but I’ll fly back for the party.
I never got to go in the pool.
On a separate note the edge paving still looks good. I bored my wife last night explaining how I hand shaped them. She was really not interested.
Is Derek still with you?
