Pull machine out
Tip at 45 degrees
Does water come out all over floor?

Most machines have a flood sensor in the bottom.
If it's leaking it fills the tray and stops functioning.

Also if you google the machine you may find a fault diagnosis process, it normally involves pressing the switches in a sequence and a series of lights can tell you the fault

Yeah the drain in the machine is clear, checked that.

Pipe when connected machine to stand pipe and nothing drains.

Disconnect from stand pipe, leave connected to machine and lay pipe at ground level and it drains fine.
There is usually a second drain at the back of the machine that can get blocked very easily.I had a look at ours and decided it was a job best left to the pros.

I have fixed my own dishwasher about 9 times in the last 6 years

From heating elements to control boards and also the drain pump, they're easy to work on and it will be something jamming the impeller, in our case it was a piece of plastic, I took it out cleared it and worked perfect. I've just fixed it on Friday night as it had stopped getting the water hot so bought a heater from e spares and now it's working again

Just have a play you can't do much wrong just be careful not to snap the water pipe as I did Lol I flooded the kitchen but gave me chance to use my wetvac

What make is it? We need a new one and I'll avoid whatever make you have!

I don't know if they're all the same, but currently we have a Bosch machine, which has the same filter arrangement as other makes. It seems like it drains without going through the filter, other than the big central plastic fitting. I think the other filters - the mesh as the base and the fine gauze cylinder below it, must only come into play for the wash cycle.

I'd never realised this until recently so we're much more careful about what goes into the machine now.
