Edited to add that I promise that this wasn't a contrived photo. The toaster thread reminded me that I needed to fix my toaster and I got half way through, saw the screwdriver on the toaster and had a PH eureka moment....

Thread convergence, interesting concept; how far could you push it? Fixing your £170.00 toaster with your swanky screwdrivers, sat on your lurid carpet wearing a pair of tan brogues in your council house, beer in hand, admiring the view of your wife faffing about in the background.

Hand made using stone age tools to an authentic 19th century design. All of those beautifully uninsulated crimp connectors are made hand folded and cut sheets, hammered flat from billets smelted at the factory from ore dug by hand from their own mines.

I think you'll find that this was a broken shonky assemblage of bent tin and wires...

But now fixed thanks to some quality tools (and another £20 of elements...)

Not forgetting the sausages and custard of course. Maybe there could be a PH calender or something?idea

Thanks to this thread...

...been using my new Vessel JIS screwdriver the last couple of days, taking my Subaru apart and putting it back together. The difference in fit and twist for the screws is very obvious, and lovely smile

Another vote for Wera. I have the gold and diamond bits and they are very durable. Toolstation sell some of their range.

Five year thread resurrection...

My 50th birthday coming up soon and i'm looking at getting myself a Halfords tool chest, and would like a decent set of screwdrivers. Quite fancy these..

I've got the Wera 300 6 piece screwdriver set. Can't fault it for general DIY jobs and you can really apply a lot of torque with your hand due to the shape of the handles.

I now want the Wera ratchet screwdriver and the full "joker" spanner set.
My 6 piece set is still going strong. Used loads of times over the years with the PZ2 getting the most abuse. I think I’ve used the PH2 as a mini crowbar once a twice!

I did buy a Wera ratchet screwdriver (with interchangeable tips) but I never use it and I actually find it more difficult/awkward/less effective to use.

If you look back you'll see I bought this set back in 2017. They are fantastic. Well worth the money. I think I paid £35

That seems a good price, they are around £50 where I've looked.

I bought the 900 set back in 2017, they were £16 less then.

Whats the difference between yellow & green, is the yellow set suitable for chiseling whereas the green set is comfort grip?

If you want a Philips that won’t break, will chase out walls and put up with almost all abuse it has to be a Stanley with the bulbous blue handle.

I bought 2 sets of these a couple of years back but without the holder (around£15 each). I keep one in the van and the other in the garage. My colleagues know if I catch them hammering these screwdrivers we're going to fall out

Yeah the yellow ones can be "whacked"
