last picture looks like ash in which case definitely good for burning

the other two I'm not so sure

Agreed, it's ash, one of the best of woods for burning on the stove.

The one in the front of the first picture looks like an electricity pole. They are pretty heavy and impregnated with tar - while they take a bit of starting they will burn well.

There are 3 which look to me the same as the first one from the previous pics. Picture of the leaves on each one;







This is the one already on the ground which was suggested as ash:

Bottom one definitely Ash.

One above looks like Elm of some kind, which is OK for firewood but not great. Actually yes, Lime!,

They look like plastic trees to me, so prob no good for the wood burner.

They're trees. Let the logs dry out enough and they'll burn just fine.

Yep, 1&3 are lime, 4 ash. Not sure on 2.

Regardless, chop 'em, split 'em, stack 'em.

You might get away with burning the ash this winter but my preference would be to leave it all until winter 2018/19 and burn them as a mixed batch.

Indeed it is. We're demolishing part of the old CRI off Glossop Rd. wavey
