Detached Victorian renovation, London.

Hi Harry
What can you get at that you couldn’t otherwise? I have had an eye on maintenance and access for our ongoing (endless) build but can’t see how our island would suffer
Granite top and sides, units front and rear, two double sockets inside units but internal panels could be removed I think, everything else accessible from under sink
Do you have one of those pop up plugs on top or similar ?

For me, dropping the back panel where the stools slot in mean oodles of access to all the plumbing for the sink, dishwasher, and electrics for the entire island.
It's always possible to access things by fiddling around through apertures: but I prefer open cast mining to keyhole surgery!
In the meantime, that barren old garden is now maturing nicely!

Our sink is against the wall (I don't 'get' having sinks/hobs in islands, but there you go ) - I asked the fitters how the tap could be changed if needed and they looked at me oddly and said "just remove the sink".
I'm sure that's easier said than done - it's attached to the worktop with adhesive.
