Definitely better. I still prefer your earlier layout with breakfast room and bifolds separate to the kitchen: but I prefer the kitchen that way, and these things are often a matter of personal preference.

Responded to your pm: will get you lots of documents next time I log into my PC!

Cheers Harry -

we're still really undecided TBH - take the point on the 'cleanness' of the patio doors on the left (with the full 'U' shape kitchen to the right - just think it would look odd with the front door being in such close proximity.. maybe not such an issue - can remember the last time someone actually just rang the bell hehe

any more thoughts & recommendations most welcome!

By the way, they are expensive, but Sunseekers ultra slim (28mm sightline) stack and slide doors are an awesome alternative to the usual thick-framed bifold...

OK - so (as per the above) we have knocked around a few layouts, and it looks like we are (floating breakfast bar notwithstanding) honing in on the below:

would be interested in any views on this final layout?

have bit the bullet and gone for wider sliding doors (as opposed to cheaper french doors)

and are looking at granite for the work-surfaces

(& living on bread & water for the next six months) hehe

I much prefer this later design to the "split" design posted earlier - that didn't work for me at all.

Looks good.

I don't like the intersection of the two worktops by that wall /pillar to the left (as you stand at it) of the sink.

Could you widen the breakfast bar by 300mm or so, which would then surround the pillar, and make the breakfast bar piece more attached to the sink run.

Possibly include a curved unit on the end of the BB (closest to the oven).

And the three units either side of the pillar opposite..... What about a false front to cover over that? 300mm larder cabinet doors??

Have had these through, be interested in viewpoints on the layout

feels a little 'tight' to me - but we are constrained by the depth of the room:
