These guys did my 80m2 drive last August in Plaspave Sorento Granite block. Really nice to work with and had no issue coming back to change a couple of bits that we changed our mind about.

What was the cost? Interesting thread as I have a drive about 110m2 that needs doing

As an alternative look, slabs and brick can break up a large area visually. We did this over 15 years ago and still looks great.

Contacted a few on Marshall’s site so will let you know the quotes,

My usual builder who I’m using to do my wall seems to ignore I want the drive doing on a wet slurry and just advised sand then put a sealant on top so once he’s done the wall I will get one of the Marshalls recommended to do the drive

Going to be a busy summer I reckon

Holiday to Florida in June
Bathroom
Wall
Drive
New guttering and facias in winter

Only that they are bloody expensive. I'm considering doing my patio though. It was freshly laid middle of last summer and is a right state already. Very mossy, grouting gone black with muck dragged over it by the kids etc.

I'm gonna give it a good pressure wash in spring then look at sealing it.

If you have a block paved driveway then I highly recommend Resiblock sealant. Not only does it seal the pavers, it also seals the jointing sand in-between them, preventing weeds from growing. It also allows engine oil drips to sit on top of the sealant, allowing it to be cleaned off completely with their Oil Remover product. And its not slippy at all. it really is excellent.

I did mine 5yrs ago and is still completely weed free thanks to the sealant. This is how it looks after 5 yrs..

Yeah, hence me wanting to get the right stuff. :-) I think resiblock was the stuff I looked at a while back

Yeah, if you're going to do it then I'd only use the resiblock stuff.....which isn't cheap.

Good plan parking the 'fender on the road. You wouldn't want oil over that driveway...

Chaps - are the costs of doing a patio commensurate with doing a drive? I want about 60 square metres done properly, to hold sandstone. Anyone point me in the directions of estimating this?

Patios will always be more expensive.

Everything comes out the back and everything has to go back round. Driveway, its all there by the kerbside.

Patio slabs are laid on a solid wet concrete bed as opposed to a sand screed. More cost and slower.

Slabs have to be pointed, either using the old sand and cement or a sweep in type product, either way more expensive and time consuming than sweeping sand in.

I have finally managed to organise getting my driveway done later this month. I have a question for anyone whos used resiblock. Should i be using resiblock instantly after installing the driveway or is this some sort of aftercare solution.

Jasper, would you do a gravel drive in South Cambridge or is that too far for you? In out driveway, small wall, edging around the outsids, block work at the join between drive and path.

It's concrete. What are you anticipating?
Poured concrete can break, as the slabs had before, was my thinking smile

I need the blocks replacing on my driveway in north surrey (near surbiton/Kingston), the drive has sunk in a couple of areas from previous owners car being parked in the same place and I’d like a couple of flower beds putting in, however is there a per sq metre cost I should be looking to achieve? Presumably I won’t need to dig the whole lot out? Also thinking of keeping the old blocks to use as a path in the back garden so not too much to remove.

Thoughts welcome. We’ve currently got red ish blocks same dimensions as a house brick and I’d like some grey squarer blocks. Not sure what they are called but nothing too fancy. Just more contemporary than what I have!
Cheers Andrew
