The wife has been teasing me. She sent me a link to this house. I have been trying and failing to talk her into it. I love the garage! She keeps on telling me it’s way to expensive for us frown. I don’t care and love the garaging! Oh well, back to dreaming.

Apart from being right on the road and not having a proper garden, isn't that just round the corner from where Kings are going to build the new school campus and a 300 house estate?
Kings aren't putting up a housing estate on that site are they - I thought the Prestbury planning permission was just for the school building - and that the houses were to be put up on the site of the old school in Macclesfield? - Has that changed now?

It is a reasonable distance from those fields - the thing which would put me off a little is the house's proximity to the (fairly busy) Macclesfield road. Still, the price does reflect that.

That garage is absolutely fantastic, I'd love that.

I had a similar dilemma recently. Amazing triple garage on a really nice house but would have absolutely maxed us out in every possible way to get it.

Then realised I would never ever have any money to be able to put anything in the garage I would have loved so much. Pointless.

Garage looks great. The house has no vestiges of its supposed 18th century farmhouse origins - mock-Georgian windows, oversized dormers and the interior decor is hideous eek

Yup, that’s what the wife said. We’re in the middle of a project house and don’t want another. I keep on telling her to just think of the garage wink

Other than some of the interior detailing, this property in a nice spot in Cheshire ticks a lot of boxes for me

You have to pay for the house somehow.... illegal sweat shop out back.

(The A26 isn't that busy, the house is set back a long way from the road, and that's an army base behind it that isn't noisy)

It’s probably for the internment of Indo Chinese birds before they are executed next September.

There’s one near us and it look like Stalag Luff for Umpa Lumpas.

It is a lovely house in a pretty spot, but I suspect it may be affected by aircraft noise.

Maybe that is why the current owner has amassed such an unusual car collection!

I like the idea of huge garage like this just so I could buy two or three scrappers (Mk1 MX5's would be my choice), and strip all 3 in unison keeping the best bits to make one great example and also having the other cars there as a nice 3D illustration of where everything is meant to go. Would be bliss compared to the houdini impression I have to do working in a single garage. The family would never see me again.

Why wouldn't you just buy one MX5, and restore it properly?

At risk of drifting a little OT, and completely out of context when consider a £1m home, it's simply because all the little bits and bobs, clips, fixings etc are a pain to get hold of and cost a fortune when compared to simply buying an entire car. And you end up with a load of spare parts at the end of it.

Fair enough smile I just thought that if you buy three scrapper MX5s and cherry pick the best bits form each, you'll just end up with one scrapper MX5 and two piles of bits. smile

That’s a good point that I didn’t think about — definitely not buying it now.
