To be fair, it says groceries, not just food.

The only explanation I can think of is that he shops at Lidl. In my experience, £250 a month on food plus £49,750 on power tools is about normal.

The only explanation I can think of is that he bought Lidl. That, or the Oxford Mail may not be the last word in accurate reporting.

Today I shall be mostly be straying to Cornwall, and it's a plot that's caught my eye. (It is also an eye-popping price.)

Now:

Approved plans:

It's not my kind of style, in reality, but if you're dropping that sort of cash, perhaps you could change the planning slightly...

It's a bit "New Fireman Sam Rescue Station".

yes

(O/T, Fireman Sam and Postman Pat are terrible now, the old stop-motion stuff is much better. Same goes for the old Thomas stuff using models and Ringo Starr. Ah, Nostalgia.)

I caught a bit of Thomas the tank engine the other day and was startled when they referred to the 'Thin Controller' . WTF is that all about!

Wow! That's bigger than a lot of houses.
Absolutely wonderful. Better like the sound of bells though.

I've seen that in person! I turned around in that area when dropping one of my mates off after uni. It's a really nice place, I'd have it in an instant. No interest at all in the unimaginative houses that surround it.

Thrice nay.

I've never seen a Huf Haus that I liked.

In fact, given that they're all the bloody same, I only ever needed to see one.

A quick look at Satelite view, actually shows it's not the one from streetview. boxedin It's actually slightly the left of the bigger house with the split roof

For me, it's interesting and cool house, but bad location. If it was just a normal cul de sac, fine, but having to drive round that other loop road (also full of old fashioned houses) to get to it, doesn't befit imo a £3.75M property!

* * *

Not a million miles away from the Huf Haus is this. New build, But such a boring, insipid design. A white box! With a single detached garage which looks like an afterthought! (and the garage door isn't central either!)

£2.3M!

I guess if someone really liked the location, they could approach an architect to make it less boring. Use some slate or something to break it up. Maybe it would be better to knock it down and start again! laugh
