That seems pretty cheap without looking into any detail, would be surprised if it's on the market for any length of time.

All that land yet it's right next to a road, a school and a pub etc.

Such a shame properties like this are not more central in their acreage.

All and sundry going past the house to park at the church and a public footpath

The sign right opposite the entrance says dual carriageway

and for that reason ......
I live a couple of miles away, it's a single carriageway 50mph limit (it moves into a dual just beyond but only for a couple of hundred yards until the roundabout). The pub is quite some distance from the house and more of a restaurant these days. If I had the money it wouldn't put me off. Surprised the owners don't have some sort of gate at the main entrance though.

They cannot as access to the (public) church is required

If the Agent had turned right he could have shown this shot, £6M for zero privacy rofl

I mean in between the yew hedge on that pic, maybe they aren't allowed. From memory there is a lockable gate at the main entrance although as you say I doubt that is ever locked due to access to the church.

Today, I am mostly wanting a nice beach to walk the dog on, somewhere to learn to surf, and be far enough away from everyone else that they will mostly leave me alone.

Looks like a holiday let currently. Not too worried about the neighbours, as they'll be gone for 9 months of the year anyway.

Lovely spot, but it isn't anywhere near St. Ives. Arguably nicer as a spot to escape to due to how busy St. Ives is mind, but its nowhere close to much at all.

Fabulous and relatively isolated location probably explains the £1.5m price ticket. The design certainly doesn’t; externally it looks like a village hall.

As lovely as Gwithian is (and there is a decent pub) I just don't see the value there - a "normal" hut is a fraction of the price

not being close to St Ives is a plus point for most of Cornwall I thought.

Some rendering companies do insane work these days. These would have cost a fortune though at this quality.

Yeah, I had no idea it was economic to do one-offs like that. I mean, I know the quality is possible. i.e. the entire IKEA catalogue is rendered, but they have a good reason and a big budget and a limited set of objects to render. But rendering a one-off house? As you say, that must have cost a fortune.

Lots of very convincing tricks in there too... fake depth of field. Fake blown highlights (fake limited dynamic range). The textures are amazing, but they do fall short up close (pic 7 wood texture in the foreground). Overall though, staggering. Simply amazing.

Sorry to sidetrack the thread. Very interesting diversion for me though.
Surely those are pictures of someone else's fully developed and finished property, to be used as inspiration? For what could be done. No doubt the plot as-is doesn't look anything like as compelling...

As previously, it has a massive '70s office block tacked on which is never shown in agents' photos.

It would cost a fortune to demolish and get rid.
