I think that's wonderful, the only thing I don't like is the bathroom, it needs to be more classical.

You'd half expect to see Henry VIII come down the stairs!
You'd be more likely to see the Russian chap rounding up his junk before going home.

Been on here a number of times over the years.

Because it’s awful.
It looks like a bizarre film set, and the pool extension is dreadful.

trying to figure out whether arab or russian. Like the way there is no kitchen other than the one that the staff work from.

He's Polish. Bought it for £500,000 in 1993 and spent £10m renovating it over 3 years. And has probably been on and off the market ever since.

There's a sales video too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekkwc2cXTms

First thing that struck was the swathes of concrete outside the house,... I'll carry on watching!

My OCD lost it at "Cinema - Bar". The cross bar missing from the A on the end of Cinema but present on the A in Bar.

Indeed, and it looks like they started to carve it but didn't finish!

It fixes the exact moment in time the bar was stocked and the owner nipped out to the shops.

The GD thread?

Edit, oh, Grand Designs! Hadn't seen that one, saw it in the press, which highlighted that connection. Nice advertising for them!

We've discussed it a couple of times over there - once when it came up for sale on 8th October (several of us having predicted it would be up for sale imminently!), just after the programme, and again today as a result of a tabloid picking up on it. Bob Hope of getting anywhere in the vicinity of asking price.
It's been reduced today to £765,000 from the original £850,000 - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prop...
I used to live close to this, and it was at the beginning of a walk I liked. The A418 that is a (literal) stones throw away is a 'fast road', as in, people go fast down it. It's also VERY busy. And turns into a race track at night. Middle of no where too, but some lovely villages near by. But I'm not want to walk anywhere from it. And for that reason, I'm ooout.
Thats nice but tiny !!

Nice large grounds, although no storage space for anything, I see PP is granted for an outside room

Shame its not bigger as its a bit of an oddity

If you look at the top curve of the A in Cinema, you can see that the black line is thicker than all the other lines. That means the cross bar was there, but the semi-circle of wood above it has come unstuck and slipped down.

Aimed at the 'Saudi Prince' market? handy for dissecting journalists.
