The building is very nice, but the £1.1m buys but a small part of it

Its right next to some points on the line at that junction. Going to be noisy. Some people however, can block that kind of noise out completely.
Usually by turning the volume of their 72” TV right up and blending it with the noise coming from the other HMO next door of a man beating a woman up.

So who lives in a house like this.....?

it has a smattering of footballer, WAG, fitness, new money, trophy wife, that kind of thing. few footie shirts, obsessed with blue. Liverpool shirts? Everton on the tele? (perhaps)
I thought the same. still can't work out who it might be though.

Love the house, although the price is fairly eye watering.

Indeed, nice at first glance until you realise it's basically a glorified flat.

I think the blue decor is a red herring. It’s a second home and the decor has been handed over to an interior designer. Their rule book stipulates painting things blue if the property is near the sea.

Second home in Cornwall with a bar and pool table suggests corporate finance/hedge fund owner.

What is the glass cubicle thing in picture 11? Looks most odd. First I thought it was a lift hehe but it doesn't show on the plans. Mind you they are the usual estate agent crappy thing that doesn't expand on a PC.

So the current owners mildly de-chintzed the place, got rid of the pool and awful UPVC windows. Not much you can do about the Pablo Escobar-esque rear elevation though.

I’m confused,

The rightmove advert doesn’t show a pool, it shows a games room.

The brochure shows more and it shows a pool. I soundly buy this house without a pool

Has it been changed significantly to remove the pool or what?

Brochure is from 2012. Why would you remove the pool....?

Mental.

Very odd, in 2012 it was a more attractive house both inside and out and had an amazing pool and cinema, someone has purchased it, splashed horrible blues and celeb walls everywhere, removed the pool, painted it white, and is re-selling it for more confused

Does seem odd to remove the pool unless it was dragging the house down to the sea?

Very very odd to get rid of the pool!

Last owners had a smattering of decent cars parked outside across the last few years, Ferrari, Maserati etc. Nice looking place from the road.

My bet is that the pool was causing damp or structural issues and it's only when they stripped back the 1980 decor did it become apparent how much.

All the money spent on rectifying the building left sweet FA for the redesign and the owner is trying to recoup their spend.

I would second that the pool needed a lot in repairs. They are also a ballache to maintain, in terms of both cost and time (but of course PH people will have staff for this). In my days of selling houses, I sold two with pools. They were a talking point, but only really to those who had no intention of ever buying such a place - the actual people with money didn't care too much for them.

We moved house two years ago and spent the first year redesigning the 1 acre of garden. While drinking a gin and tonic we did momentarily chat about a pool but that was it. I'm not a devoted swimmer and would have no interest in an indoor pool, it would only be for splashing about in during long hot lazy days and frankly we only get 4 or 5 weeks of that weather in the UK so we dismissed the idea as quickly as we thought of it. I just wouldn't want the hassle.
