Penrith. Cumbria has many lovely places...Penrith isn't one of them.
It’s in Maulds Meaburn which is about 20 minutes away from Penrith.
So 3 miles on the local roads then...

That'll teach me to read the advert though.
Agree that Penrith isn’t exactly lovely but you’d only have to go there for a weekly shop if home delivery isn’t your thing, and nearby Kirkby Stephen and Appleby are nice wee towns.
Doesn't Appleby have a famous horse fair?
If you live there, that’s when you take your week’s holiday (if you don’t like horses) wink

Or because they let both the Warehouse and Guardsvan so deemed it vital each house had its own. Can't really see the appeal but I suppose if you want to attract a variety maybe it helps...
It's a great house, apart from the kitchen, and the extra buildings are very nicely done. Shame about the road and the 2 cottages. I'd be trying to add those to the curtilage as time went by and let them too.
That would seem the logical purpose given that a very significant portion of the U.K. population consider being able to climb into a par-boiled Biffa bin of faecal and self abuse waste from a thousand strangers an essential ingredient to any successful weekend away.

A fair amount of bang for your buck.
I know the running costs are going to be ruinous, and that land is much cheaper, but that is depressingly "cheap" for such a property.
There's a few similar 10-12 bedroom baronial piles with a couple of dozen acres for similar prices l- what's the driver on prices up there, because in my simple mind, anyone that is in a position to buy and run a place like that is likely to be mobile with their employment.

My sister-in-law got married there when it was a wedding venue; beautiful place. Dollar is a lovely village and is reasonably close by.

If it's bang for your buck you want, plus an interesting motoring connection, how about this Grade 2 place with 20 acres in mid-Wales, formerly owned by legendary muttering rotter William Boddy and now up for £350k:

Sadly it's in a bit of a state. Somebody's buying it though.

^ Quite a project but it could be fantastic if done right! Interesting note at the bottom of the particulars saying the current owner will continue to own the drive way - I don't think I'd be happy with that arrangement!

I'm quite liking this: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prop...
Perplexed by the number of beds in some of the bedrooms though.. lots of sleep-overs or swingers play centre? hehe

21 seat breakfast table. Towels on beds, B&B?

That would be more likely! Pretty swish for a B&B.

Not an exciting house per se, but 168 acres of "fk off world" look lovely to me

I'd say that dog doesn't like estate agents.

Nice place though

"Harris Highland Dream". Good name for a racehorse, terrible one for a house.
