Only three on Rightmove for that little.

One of them looks OK though, if you don't mind only 31 years left on the lease.

I quite like that. Assuming you had a few million in the bank. Lease extension will be big bucks I imagine. And it's no good if you have a car. But if you live in Central London do you need anything more than an uber account and a Oyster? As you'll need to arrange long term car parking (perhaps the car park under Hyde Park)

Huge oil painting portraits and a 7x10' kitchen (which actually looks even pokier) is just plain weird.
Granted, it is a London flat though.

Only worth doing the car park thing if you have a vehicle you really want to keep (and use) in London. Sensible thing is to set up Zipcar or similar for the times that Uber and public transport don’t work.

I imagine the low ceilings (it's in the attic I think) make it feel a bit cramped in person.

Curious - what happens to a Grade II listed property if the lease runs out? Leaseholder gets it for free? Assume it can't be knocked down without permission. In which case puts leaseholder into a weaker negotiating position?

If you are the owner you can ask the tenant to leave or sell the freehold to them or anyone else, they don't have to and can just carry on as it is, extend the lease or start a new one.

Indeedy-do . . . two miles south of my house agents are trying to punt two bed flats for that price (with limited sucess this year according to rumour)!

Surely it’ll end up as a boutique hotel/spa of sorts?

Houses like that are like owning yachts . The purchase price is just the beginning.

Of course. Doesn’t mean that it doesn’t look exceptional value!

I actually like that one.

Usually the expensive stuff doesn't do much for me, but that's nice. Some colour, some character, and enough space for a decent workshop too.
