Horrible. Looks like a Harvester restaurant. Monotone interior’s awful too.

I actually like that one.

Usually the expensive stuff doesn't do much for me, but that's nice. Some colour, some character, and enough space for a decent workshop too.
Five thousand three hundred square feet, amd only three bedrooms?

Sounds good to me - not sure what I'd do with the two spares though.. I don't like having people staying over in my house. smile

There's another in the Studio, which has its own kitchen too. Much better to bung the guests in there and no-one gets in anyone else's way.

‘Only three bedroom’.....

I just don’t get this as being a problem. Most people can only afford houses like this later in life. The kids already leaving or about too, and little likelihood of having more kids.

I have a 5 bed house, and could do with a maximum of two as a luxuery now, but I don’t want a smaller house yet, I want a house with more living space, more flexibility.

We will probably keep this house after my daughter moves out. When she leaves and gets her own place I get a bedroom back, which will be an ideal cinema-games room, a dressing room, and an office which until a few weeks ago she used for Uni work.

Our 5 bed house is currently utilised as 3 bed, we can go to 2 bed when they leave.

Agree; wouldn’t bother us. Lovely place.

That seems exceptional value?!
Houses like that are like owning yachts . The purchase price is just the beginning.
Of course. Doesn’t mean that it doesn’t look exceptional value!
Why is it only a million?

That's just down the road from me, I'll be offering full asking price when my numbers come up on Tuesday.

Compared to some that get posted on here this seems a bargain for 14 bedrooms and two extra cottages in with the deal, along with some history for good measure:

You are quite right of course. It really is amazing value, almost too good?

Is it a five yr lease or something? wink

It’s rather grand but does have the age old problem of these houses in that the land that generated the income to pay for them has long been gives off.

Something like that is probably going to require 2/3 full time members of staff and continual monthly maintenance costs and that’s going to easily add up to probably well north of £100k/annum.

I guess it is cheap because it’s either falling down or the local economy isn’t sufficient in size for the property to generate enough revenue?

The oil to heat it will be 100k/annum! Never mind the rest of the maintenance.
