^ nice modest west LA cottage - a bit close to where there were some fierce fires a couple of weeks back, but nice nonetheless.

Liking that, I think I'd have my settee facing the window.

I think I missed this last month, which is odd, as I can rarely resist Croyde...

I appreciate it's next to a campsite, but I'd cope with it.

Aside from the wood lined hallway. I like it.

But I'm a sucker for unusual buildings.

Rather than that 95% the old country houses/mansions we see on this thread.

We live in 2020 soon. Lets have some architecture and homes that are less than 100 years old! Old homes are ste! biggrin
I'm with you on this - lovely! Being picky:

- it could just be a trick of the light but the hallway does look a little narrow (given the lounge is 71' though I suspect it's not!)
- all that would wood (I know - I'm being silly here) need a fair chunk of maintenance (I hate silvered/aged wood!)

That’s so you can see the reflection of the view in it. Because you won’t be seeing much tv with all that glass there?

Been on and off sale for ages I believe (I have a rightmove alert for the location)

Nice location (bar the nearby campsite), but the architecture is pretty bland and the interior is just, well, uninteresting. It’s a no from me I’m afraid.

Big open plan places need high ceilings or even a double height space ideally. Otherwise they look compressed.

All good points, but I'll only be living there whilst the chap finishes my "lighthouse" from Grand Designs earlier this year.

That was an absolute travesty. It could be mega but it's been left for 2-3 years now so I don't think it will just be a case of finishing it off any more. Lots of work to be done.
Also, how much does the site owe him? £5m?
I really want to see that thing finished, not just for the poor bloke who stubbornly bankrupted himself and lost his wife but for the people who have to live near it.

I pass this house quite a lot and although I'm not an art deco fan, I was expecting a lot more from the interior. Some interesting decor.

Agree, they should be mirror image.

Hardsurfaced forecourt doesn’t look good .

Agreed, bit of tasteful gardening would look much better.
Presumably the fact they've paved it means the garage is tiny and they have 3 cars in the household.

Edit: if you check on Street View the photo is with a mega wide angle lens!

It's a bit of a mess. Art deco on the outside, mid-century modern on the inside with some very odd color choices.

It's pretty terrible - the house it is attached to is an utter disgrace, the street is a mess of different styles, on a big road, very exposed, and the inside is not sympathetic at all but a pastiche of different styles and eras
