I wasn't a fan of this when it was on the RIBA award TV programme recently, but I know some of you lot were.

Who is the owner? Some interesting interiors.

He owns one or more nightclubs in Birmingham. Don't remember his name, but if you can find Kevin McCloud's House Of The Year programme on All4, his name is mentioned in there.

I find 'contemporary' houses really interesting. Some manage to look like they could really feel like a home, but houses like this one just seem so cold. I can't imagine ever feeling comfortable there, or familiar. I've never really figured out why this is the case though, often the houses can look so similar but 'feel' very different.

Opinions differ, I think it’s a fantastic place, would like to walk around it to do if it feels right and not too industrial but I like the look.

I don’t see why £2.5m is so ridiculous either, it’s not a cheap property area and it’s 5,500 sq ft with presumably an expensive finish

Horrid, it looks like an office space, inside and out. The home cinema is a joke too, looks like they're trying too hard. Any home cinema should really have headrests, IMO, too lean back and watch the film.

Yes, but they will never actually 'use' the cinema, will they ? Its just there ' because they can'. A show piece. A talking point. Not in the least practical or comfortable.

This describes the entire house. It was built to win design awards, not to be lived in.

The cinema sums up all the issues I have with that house. The chipboard floor will be uncomfortable and the concrete everything else will reflect sound meaning the fortune he has spent on the audio equipment will be wasted.

I am an engineer at heart and going out of your way to make a product st at what it is meant to do just does not makes sense. You can make things aesthetically pleasing and functional. When you wing the pendulum too far one way then I am out.

I am sure it will be fine once the plasterers turn up and then the carpet fitters have been!

Or all that clutter has been removed and the cars driven in. Just needs a 4 post lift.

But where's the house, have they not built it yet?
