That's a fabulous place, I read about it in Country Life this morning. Absolutely no comparison to that nasty London mid-terrace

Might even have been you, but I remember a thread a while back where someone mentioned a big money new build and the buyers had the brand new 500k or so bespoke kitchen skipped and fitted a new one to their taste.
That was me years ago. A friend was fitting out the kitchens in the 1 Hyde Park development as part of the development and the majority of buyers ripped them all out and replaced them. There’s more than one person in a modest south London flat with a £250k kitchen that never went in the skip.

Regardless of how long the drive is, it leads directly onto the A39. No chance of walking to the village shop or pub. (Village? What village?). I bet it's a helluva job getting a decent internet speed too.
It'd be a lovely place to live, but I could only manage it as a weekend place, and its way too big/expensive for that.

Nope I'd live there full time. Clay shooting, sailing, fishing couple of big dogs to walk and lots of country house weekends inviting friends down. I could waste most of my life just sitting there, big cigar and drink in hand looking at the view. Sod the internet !

Stag Hunters in Brendon about 2 miles from the end of the drive, or The Blue Ball in Countisbury is about 3 miles and you can walk a spectacular section of the SW coast path to get there. Perfect for a quick sharpener on an afternoon stroll. Both good pubs. It'd be a lovely place to live, but I could only manage it as a weekend place, and its way too big/expensive for that.

The drive is 3 miles long.....that adds a bit to your walk back from the pub. Just about the nicest setting I've seen on here - stunning gardens and views. The house itself is a bit too... baronial for my taste.
Ultimately my 5 mil would go somewhere warmer than dear old Blighty, but that is one hell of a house all the same.

Not at all. It's the current owners country pad. They have other property and don't spend enough time there. It'd be a lovely place to live, but I could only manage it as a weekend place, and its way too big/expensive for that.
Hard life, I know.
It looks like there's some 3G coverage leaking in from O2 of all people. Nothing from the others.
Depending on whose numbers come up this weekend it looks like we have a race on. And I don't just mean up and down the drive tipping ramblers into the weeds.
Count me in.

Is that a lift shaft? I'd hate it if it broke down in summer and being trapped in there.https://www.domain.com.au/bellevue-hill-nsw-2023-2...
