I'd like some wireless PIR lights for my house. I have been recommended : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Beams-MB390-300-Lumen-...

Is there anything out there better / cheaper? Ideally I'd like to order from Amazon for next delivery as our house was targeted 2 nights ago, so want them up and running asap.

Cheers

If you do go for a battery operated one, let us know how you get on.

I bought one of the solar powered ones below, which is a load of rubbish and most of the amazon reviews are fake but they don't care. The reviewers names are comical and many have mysteriously also reviewed the same beauty products.

I have couple of Mr. Beams outside and happy with what they are. Can never replace a mass powered light but for smaller areas it's OK. Battery life is quite decent as well. Detection is good.

We've got a couple of them to light up the route from utility room to wheelie bins.

They're really good, with good battery life and bright light.

I was going to put in a mains PIR light over the door, and bought the first Mr Beams as an interim measure. Realised it was perfectly fine, and ordered another to light the rest of the route.

Hi,

Actually installed a pair of the mb3000 today at the back of the house. Now dark and all working exactly as expected.

Would defy recommend (Ordered 3 more for the garden)

Another satisfied customer here, have 3 external & 2 internal, all working fine for several years & as said, battery life is pretty decent too.

Ive got the flood lights out front. Lights up the drive(3 cars) nicely. Not as good as mains but easily good enough, Im happy with it and no need to run cables. Probably fit another set to the other side to increase it too. Would recomend

I bought one over a year now and was quite sceptical, however it's quite effective and the original batteries are still going strong.

Ive had a few Mr Beams. Got some in my shed which are working fine a couple of years later. The first outdoor PIR spot filled up with water (the waterproof one) after 9 months. To be fair they swapped it out no quibble and the replacement has been fine since.

I some of their path lights a couple of years ago an 2 out of 5 of those have failed without reason. Not buying any more of those now, shame as they worked really well for ad hoc path lighting.

So mixed view here. I think the key appeal is battery versus mains, and for occasional use they are pretty good

Great shout, looks like they were £7 against £30 on Amazon. Unfortunately it looks like they've sold out. frown

I'm intrigued by the fact that the 3 pack costs more than buying three individual units.

Gotta love Amazon.

I bought one of these last year and the brightness is pretty decent for something powered by batteries.
I'm quite impressed with how it triggers, the range seems pretty decent and doesn't seem to have many false alarms, my old halogen floodlight used to be set off by cats and the wind.
I first used some rechargeable D cells but they kept going flat, since changing to some decent Varta alkaline cells it's lasted months.

I have a Mr Beams near the front door just the right amount of light and still on the original batteries after about 18 months.

I tried Energizer rechargeables in mine, they lasted about 3 weeks whereas the Duracells last for months & months.

Mr Beams was acquired by Ring this week, so expect prices to double and quality to decline soon!

What kind of range do these Mr Beams PIR's have? I'd want them to trigger as soon as anyone steps onto my drive.

I've been using some of these in the garden for the last year or so, work great for what they are and give off good light. Various sizes available.
