Our Cube cost £1150. Where are you getting one for a measly £500?

Misread the ad. I thought it was £384 plus £99 fitting, but offer was £99 fitting instead of £384.

And indeed why would you? If I wanted something that tastes like Lidl own brand pop, I'd buy that, it's cheaper than running a SodaStream!

I really don't get the people who don't see the advantages of these.

Have I got one - no.

They are expensive and I can't really justify it.

Do I want one - yes!

I'd love to ditch the electric kettle from the worktop and have instant boiling water on tap for tea, coffee, pasta, poached eggs etc. It would be brilliant!

Can they walk to the tap and fill themselves? If not then what real use is a smart switch

Don’t get me wrong. I’d love one too but they are very expensive for what they are and I’ve got better things to do with the money .
I suppose if you’re having a new kitchen and it’s costing you £20-30k, you say what the hell, to another £2k or so.

People have different values, as this thread shows. I wouldn't spend any significant money on a kitchen, generally mass produced chipboard in different frocks for bewilderingly large sums of money.

But a boiling tap means I can warm my teapot and have my morning brew underway in less than a minute. It quicker and quieter than a kettle, I don't wake the children. I can top up the pot without reboiling the kettle. It's a nice calm start to the day. I work from home so it continues to be convenient throughout the day. It's not because I'm lazy, we heat by wood by choice, which is labour intensive.

If I use the coffee machine I can pre-warm the cup instantly ensuring the result isn't tepid, if my wife has welded food to the pans or plates I can soak them in boiling water instantly.

For me this makes one worthwhile, but I understand why it would be undesirable to others.

There are plenty of options well under a grand. I'm not saying the more expensive ones aren't worth the extra, but you don't have to spend £2k.

How loud is your kettle that it wakes up your children?

Oddly we seem to have an exceptionally loud kettle too.

Were getting a new kitchen soon and will have a hot tap, unlikely to be a Quooker unfortunately due to the cost but I'm looking forward to the convenience of it. Only yesterday as I was boiling the kettle for the 3rd time to wilt some spinach I thought in a few months I won't be faffing about with a kettle. Hopefully anyway.

I looked at alternatives, which seemed to be circa £600.
The Qettle (like Perrin & Rowe) seemed a viable option, but they don't have a flexible spout so that was ruled out

Overall, I was concerned about the poor reviews of these, inc from my electrician and plumber who have fitted various units over the last few years.
Bit the bullet and got the Qooker - and can echo the postive comments from those here that have one.
To note, it's not as quiet as I thought it would be, but the noise is for a short time the water is coming ouf of the tap.

Within our dealer group, some sell the Qettle and some of the build quality has been mentioned! also after sales apparently is a laugh

Quooker is the way to go in my opinion.

The all in one jobs means you don’t need to buy a normal tap as well as you used to if you wanted a boiling tap. At least it save a couple of hundred or more on getting a decent kitchen mixer tap you can put towards it.

We've had ours nearly 8 years now. Was one of the first Fusions to be installed in the country. Wouldn't be without it. Photo taken when it was first installed in place of a Bristan mixer:

Quooker's service is second to none. We requested service of our tap when the handle became stiff in 2019. They came and swapped the whole tap for a new one at no cost; no questions asked.

This is great to hear.
Glad I opted for a Qooker above the other brands.

I don't have a kettle, but the bare stone walls and flags the sound seems to travel.
