Roman numeral house numbers

House names used to annoy the hell out of me trying to find one in the dark down a windy country lane when visiting clients, but just imagine an ambulwans crew trying to locate somebody having a heart attack in a whole road of Dunromins, Petit Masions, Belle Views and Kev's Gaffs or some poor sap with a Transit load of parcels to deliver standing in the pouring rain trying to work out what the fkuck XXVIII means.
An Arabic numeral clearly visible from the road is everything you do need and nothing you don't.
This. Our house has a name and a number. We used the number, to be clearly shown in the fanlight above the front door, and thus visible from the road, much more than small brass numbers on the door would be.An Arabic numeral clearly visible from the road is everything you do need and nothing you don't.
Not yet installed: we are saved by the wheelie bins that have the number painted on them!
Our number in Roman numerals would be a bit long too...LXXVIII. The meaning of which no one would have any idea.

Intrigued I checked what my house would be:
CXXX
was the answer - which I quite like. Tempted to have it backlit in frosted glass in the window above the front door (of the gatehouse obviously) to encourage double takes....
Would make your house look like a private high end swingers club if you did that I reckon .CXXX
was the answer - which I quite like. Tempted to have it backlit in frosted glass in the window above the front door (of the gatehouse obviously) to encourage double takes....
