My house is labeled up multilingually, its available in most formats:

I think the OP should definitely number it in Hex, much better modern format in his situation.

4 in hex is 4
Binary is better.

House names used to annoy the hell out of me trying to find one in the dark down a windy country lane when visiting clients, but just imagine an ambulwans crew trying to locate somebody having a heart attack in a whole road of Dunromins, Petit Masions, Belle Views and Kev's Gaffs or some poor sap with a Transit load of parcels to deliver standing in the pouring rain trying to work out what the fkuck XXVIII means.

An Arabic numeral clearly visible from the road is everything you do need and nothing you don't.
This. Our house has a name and a number. We used the number, to be clearly shown in the fanlight above the front door, and thus visible from the road, much more than small brass numbers on the door would be.

Not yet installed: we are saved by the wheelie bins that have the number painted on them!

Our number in Roman numerals would be a bit long too...LXXVIII. The meaning of which no one would have any idea.

Put a "quattro" badge up instead. Pretentious and novel in equal measure.

In a new development in the last remaining gap in the village:

Ponciest house of all had a big lump of sandstone with XIII carved in it at the end of the drive.

After a couple of weeks it was accompanied by a bit of hardboard with `13` daubed on it in red paint.

I heard that they were going to do away with Roman numerals.

NOT ON MY WATCH

Intrigued I checked what my house would be:

CXXX

was the answer - which I quite like. Tempted to have it backlit in frosted glass in the window above the front door (of the gatehouse obviously) to encourage double takes....
Would make your house look like a private high end swingers club if you did that I reckon tongue out.

End terrace near us was sold a couple of years ago and renovated, got a illuminated perspex name plaque above the door. A few weeks ago they finally gave in to the missed deliveries and added a second sign with the house number on. Made me chuckle.

Sweet fking jesus.

We recently bought a new house number for our place. This idea never went through my head.

Like the binary one though.

Hi,

Neil Chambers here. Just browsing.

I would not recommend Roman numerals for a house.

The number 4 would suffice.

Al the best,

Hmmmm mine's LV.

Might get lots of passing swingers knocking on the door if I put that up.

Make it easy for people with few qualifications to find unless you fancy not receiving parcels etc.

Or do it in hexadecimal so you only get visits from scientists.
