Also the top of the roof can’t be more than 4m off the ground.

Someone has decided treehouses are no longer fun and decided to make life as difficult as possible. Even power needs permission as far as I remember.
Friends of mine knocked up a little tiny treehouse for their THREE year old, neighbours complained and it had to come down.

Sadly one nosey neighbour can spoil quite a lot of fun frown

Anyone want a sneak peek at our pre launch promo video?

I've obviously going to have treehouse footage added, interior and exterior when built, in the sunny spring, with bluebells etc, just was just a autumn shoot last year.

Website will be live within the week, as will social media etc with build updates.

Feedback welcome smile

I like it, maybe a drone shot going into Ilfracombe harbour past Verity as well?

Is it not more likely that someone somewhere massively took the piss with existing legislation...

I don’t believe there was legislation prior to these recent laws.

All most certainly simply stopping Joe public from building beyond their capabilities.

Cut the first 18 seconds - it isn't on the beach and the later pics show that it's close to the beach.

Cut / change the music

Lovely location !

There most certainly was.

In fact, nothing really changed with respect to tree houses, and the new rules weren't triggered by them at all (as I said above, if they were enclosed structures, they were always treated the same as any other outbuilding under Permitted Development rules).

The balconies/veranda guidance was triggered by the sudden popularity of raised decking areas (with an attendant rise in neighbour complaints). It was merely intended as a clarification of what could be construed as operational development. A line had to be drawn somewhere between what could be accepted as minor changes in natural ground level as a consequence of ordinary domestic garden design/landscaping, and what could be construed as 'material' under Planning legislation.

And as other have said, it was a direct response to large numbers of public complaints, nothing to do with a 'killjoy' attitude by Government and Planning departments. Blame neighbourly intolerance and selfishness (in both directions), not the Planners.

Nice video. My thoughts:

Clear up the blur much more quickly at the very start - makes your eyes strain.

Don't use all-caps for the message, and instead of having 5-8 words on a page which makes you plod through reading it like a bit of
a dunce, use a full sentence and leave it on the screen longer, and leave bigger gaps between them.

Place looks great! smile

Yes it’s a Shou Sugi Ban cedar, I love it and it was good fun to do too

Waney larch downstairs, the Torched Cedar upstairs, Cedar shingle roof, Balau decking and sapele windows, quite the wood palette
