I am amazed at the number of people that want to start World War III, because someone has cut a couple of twigs from a tree in a public place.

Aggressive, or what?

It was supposed to be a light hearted thread. I don't think anyone wants to do that.

Hmmm....well it's obviously much much bigger but it actually looks well tended/shaped in that picture.

I'd be quite happy looking onto that.

You're right. It is odd behaviour.

To be honest that massive great bush up against my fence would drive me nuts and I would have pruned it already. But then I am of a gardening bent. smile

Behind that is obviously my external wall with just drab brick and a sky dish so I could lop it down and he could stare at a wall if he wanted.

Well exactly.

FWIW, in my experience people can be very odd about trees. Theirs or other peoples.

Like some of the other posters on here I'm a bit a pruning nutter. I was expecting to see something that had been really let go.

But, no. A nicely tended, nicely shaped tree-sized shrub.

Thanks, confirmed my suspicion that there is exactly nothing wrong with it. The Shrub shall stay. As is!

Seems a perfectly tidy thing. Especially in contrast to the planting of a tree randomly in a pavement!

He may be an OCD loon and the twigs he cut off were shoots from the trunk? In which case he has done you a favour.

I notice you have some windows directly overlooking his front door! The upstairs one needs to be rigged to a motion sensor directed at his front door so every time he moves your curtain twitches. That’ll drive him round the bend.

It must have taken him some time to dig a hole in the pavement to get that tree in.

Has anyone reported it to the local council yet as someone with a pram or a person in a wheelchair may find their progress impeded wink

If you look closely, that is actually part of his drive. Still why he planted a tree there is unknown to me.

That has all been removed now and replaced with matching brick work.

Fit one of these on your wall behind the bush.

http://www.themiddlefinger.com/tag/house/

Leave it a few weeks.

Chop down the bush.

Problem sorted.
