Octopus energy company. Anyone use 'em?
Discussion
Just had this e mail from Octopus:
The smart scheduling behind Intelligent Octopus allows for even more flexibility – and like most smart tech, this gets better and more efficient as it gets bigger.
From midnight tonight, your Intelligent prices are dropping.
You don’t need to do anything; your new rates kick in from midnight (that’s 00:00 on Friday 21st April).
Your overnight price is dropping 25% to 7.5p / kWh.
Your day price is dropping to 38.58 p / kWh – a 7% price cut on average.
Though the energy market is still in a precarious spot, wholesale prices are (in general) falling. If things continue on the same trend, it’s looking likely that energy prices for all tariffs, regardless of flexibility, will be able to drop below the government-subsidised rate from around July.
So, thank you. For balancing the UK’s grid and avoiding the need for extra fossil fuels. For your trust and patience while we work out kinks in our innovative products, which helps make EVs the affordable, simple choice for everyone. And for your enthusiastic early participation in the smart grid: you’re truly leading the transition to a sustainable, affordable energy future for all of us.
Love and power,

You can all thank me...we're part way through having solar panels installed, so prices were bound to drop after that.
At least we can go onto Flux and hopefully end up exporting more than we use as we are pretty low users (we're only having the solar installed as it's being done at trade rates by our son in law so he can get his MCS accreditation after it is inspected by them).

Doesn't look like my Go is dropping im on the July 2022 rate. So I assume its the newer rate dropping to the same as the July rate
Mine was 7.5p up until 14th april when my one year expired and it went up to 12p.Go is no longer a fixed term - which has worked out well for me because when electricity was skyrocketing i was only paying 5p and then 7.5p
Now it’s variable and i’m benefiting from it dropping already.
(all off peak values stated as i don’t use peak rate electricity)

I recently inherited them as a supplier to a commercial property. They are bloody useless and constantly try to overbill. I kid you not, they they estimated the usage for one day as 150% of the usage for the previous two months!
Give them the readings then!Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
